Our Deck Down Under, Port Orange

This place used to have the best fish sandwich. We are locals who live only down the block. We went today and it was worse than awful. First off, the price for a fish sandwich is $8.99, this comes alone sitting in a basket unless you want to pay $1.99 more to add fries, cole slaw and hush puppies. The sandwich had three small thin pcs. of fish that the waitress said was flounder. It was a far cry from the fish sandwich they use to serve at a cheaper price. My wife had a grilled cheese which was not grilled well but mushy and the cheese looked and taste like chee wiz, just all mush, nothing resembling a grilled cheese at all. Do yourself a favor and do not eat there!!! Also, a pitcher of Ultra Beer was $8,75 and it was not a big pitcher Go across the parking lot to DJ s deck which has much better food and very friendly wait staff or travel down south just a little and eat at Boondocks, they have excellent food at reasonalbe prices..There a pitcher of beer is $6!!! Our Deck Down Under has seen the last of us. What a ripoff!!!!

Anything more then 1 star is someone who has never eaten fresh seafood. I would prefer to give it no star's but yahoo, wont let me. I have eaten at this place 3 times and all 3 was disappointing. First visit was crablegs, very sparse in meat for the size of the legs however, the hush puppies were good. Beer was average, kind of bland tasting as it was room temperature at best. The Server was nice and told us she was a local there going to school. A few months later, I took a date there to try the shrimp, yes, they were shrimpy, small and tough as a 2 dollar steak. My date got the steam spiced, I had the fried. Mine tasted like it was dipped in the same batter as the hush puppies and hers tasted like raw seafood, no spices at all. The beer was colder this time, as it was on tap, but a little on the flat side. Third times the charm, not here. The wait was about 45 minutes, the place was cold (this was in Feb, and the place had a strong foul odor, like rotting flesh inside. I would have went outside to eat, but it was winter time. After going inside and smelling that stench, my group of 4 guys decided to go somewhere else and as we were about to leave, we got handed a bill. I promptly handed the bill back as we never actually got seated and explained that to the cashier. She argued and said she would call the cops if we left, as I told her to go ahead and do so, we would wait for them outside. As luck would have it, the cops were there in two minutes and the same people that we were in line with us was still in line waiting. After they vouched for us, we were allowed to leave, bill free. I will never eat from this establishment ever again, plus there are much better places in town that offer less, but better tasting and much better service. I ask you, how do you screw up a beer ? That says it all to me.

I was a little sketched out by this place when we went in because of the set-up but once I received my food...it all went away. I have not stopped craving the conch fritters since I left. Everything was really good and fresh. This is why we should not judge books by their cover!

Seafood so good that we ate dinner one night and lunch the very next day. The crabcakes were tasty, onion rings lightly breaded and crisp, and the fish sandwich platter (with slaw, onion rings, and hush puppies for a little more) was enough for two for lunch. We asked for the fish blackened and it was very flavorful. The wait staff was attentive. They have a way of knowing each order - they must be psychic, but correct. The key lime kanoli was a little disappointing - shell not crispy - but the filling tasty and tart. This is not a fine dining establishment - but a fine eating establishment for the hungry at heart - easy to find and plenty of parking.

This place is the best!!! Everytime we go to daytona on vacation(which is about every summer) We eat here at least 2 or 3 times! The food is great, the employees are super nice and i would recommend it to anyone!!!!!

IT'S THE BEST!!!! How could anyone give this place a bad review. I am 51 and have been going to Our Deck forever. I used to live in Daytona and we would go when it was on the north side of Dunlawton. Then they moved to the south side and maintained the awesome food, great ambiance and the owners are the best. I travel all over Florida and I rarely get to go to a place that is as good as Our Deck. The fish sandwich is great, burgers are awesome, hush puppies are the best. And to just have a sandwich and a beer it can NOT be beat. This is a GREAT place. In my opinion it is a major destination place. And don't long lines mean your not the only one that knows how good this place is? Give it a try.
