Snack Jacks was a perfect place for my gf and I since we have a small dog with us he was allowed to be with us outside, right away he was brought a bowl of ice water to drink! so cool! also the staff was sooo polite and helpful, the philly was awesome, we just had a really good time and plan on going back. yes there is valet parking due to limited space...tip or not, up to you. we give it 5 stars! excellent ocean views although the laid back atmosphere may not be for preppies or snobs or non fancy folks.
I was born and raised around the area and now live in NY...I have always love there food and how can u beat eating right off the beach....I took my boyfriend there last time i was home (which he is from San Diego) and he LOVED IT!!! We can't wait to go back to get a GREAT fish sandwich and a cold beer by the beach!!!!!!!!!!
High Tides was recommended by staffer at Marineland and we looked forward to oceanside dining and great food. We got the view, but the food left much to be desired! I ordered crab legs - mediocre at best and the butter tasted like margarine! My husband ordered the fresh veggie platter and was served the most unappetizing veggie platter either of us had ever seen - old broccoli, tasteless carrots, and the zucchini and summer squash slices were from large, mature vegetable, not the delicate young ones that so perfectly grace a vegetable platter. Noting the absence of any form of bread with our meal, we added french fries to the order and were cursed with overcooked (burned!) fries that were so bad we left them mostly uneaten. Despite the great view, I would drive a considerable distance before trying this establishment again.
We ate there recently. The parking is a real problem. First of all, why are you paying for parking in Flagler Beach? The other issue is, we paid for valet parking, and were lucky enough to retrieve our own cars.
The food is not worth $18-$20 meals. The shrimp plate for 12 shrimp cost $18 or more. The shrimp count was probably 21-25, not exactly tasty. The food comes in a basket you would see at a diner. The waitress we had was not exactly what I would ever hire. She got off work in the middle of our dinner and we had to go to the bar to ask for service. For a $100 meal this is just horrible, horrible service and food. The view is good.
Sorry, floridabuckeyegirl, but you have Snack Jack's in the wrong location. Snack Jack's is located on A1A, a little out of the downtown area. I fell in love with Snack Jack's (and Flagler Beach) last summer when staying at my friend's condo, and I hope to come again...
The view is fantastic and the fish ruben is to die for. The only negative thing that I could mention is the lack of parking. If you are not willing to pay the valet to park close, the only other option is to park in the neighborhood across the street and walk. But, then you are crossing A1A. Could be hazardous. Oh, and they don't carry fountain pop. But, that's not a matter of life or death... But who cares... with that view it's all worth it anyway!
As you drive up A1A along the Atlantic coast you come upon a tiny shack on the water....Hide Tides Snack Jacks. Quaint and quirky describe it best. The view is excellent...look out upon the waves as they crash upon the shore below. The bugers are good and the fries are tasty. Grab a red stripe beer and kick back!
They vallet park (because of lack of parking) and they only take cash. No worries they have an atm inside ;)
Good eats...try it!
