We went to this restaurant because it got such good reviews here. The good reviews do not fit this restaurant at all. The food was terrible. For a restaurant that specializes in seafood they surely should know how to cook it correctly. Half was overcooked, half was undercooked and most of it was cold. The food at the Fisherman’s Net was definitely not worth eating. I would not eat there again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. For a seafood restaurant located across the street from the ocean it was a big disappointment. On the upside, we did have a friendly waitress. Unfortunately, a friendly waitress does not make up for the awful food.
Food ordered at our table was the Seafood Stir-fry over Noodles, First- Mate Seafood Platter (fried) and First-Mate Seafood Platter (broiled).
The restaurant could use a good thorough cleaning. There is a lot of dust dirt and grime in the dining area.
The Fisherman's Net has the best Haddock in Florida - being from New England I had not found anyone here in Florida in the past 20 years that I have lived here that I was happy with. I went to the Fishnerman's Net 8 years ago and go all the time for the Haddock - do not know about any of the other food as my husband has had good and bad food in here and the serve varies as for who they have woking at that time - some of them are not friendly but I don't go for them I only go for the Haddock. So if you are looking for Haddock then this is the place to go otherwise its a hit and miss with the other food and service.
We ate there last night on way home from a granddaughters state competiion in Palm Coast. Hubby and i stumbled on this resturant a few years ago while coming from Savannah back to home in central Florida-decided to take scenic route instead of interstate. Both times our food has been excellent, service excellent, prices reasonable. From the time we walked in the door, everyone was friendly, etc. Complimentary smoked crab dip was given to us as soon as we sat down-very delicious. Last night I had grilled mahi-mahi and hubby had the scallops-we were both pleased- I could not eat all my food, Food was hot both times. Never had to ask for refill with my water- waitress was on top of everything! We were quite surprised while reading some of the reviews. The place has always been clean inculding bathrooms, views of the ocean spectacular. When we are up that way we will definitely eat there again.
Traveling through on 95 found the resturant via Yahoo. Stopped in and had a great dinner in a very pleasant environment! Would do it again! Casual, local ocean town atmosphere.
We went to this restaraunt on July31st and had the meal begin as any other. Got the salad and then waited an hour and still no food. The waiter said it was because of the lobster...Ever cooked lobster?? You steam it...doesn't take very long. The waiter, instead of apologizing just kept saying it wasn't his fault and he would bring the food as soon as it was ready. Finally brought it and all the plates were cold-cold green beans (YUCK!), cold crab, cold scallops, cold fish and cold shrimp...Can't decide who had the problem, the waiter who could not get the food from the kitchen to our table or the chef who cooked all the food, let it all sit for who knows how long and then decided to cook the lobster...portions were also very small--very dissappointed!!!
Me and my sister were on vacation and drove to daytona. Disappointed in daytona we drove north, starving. We finally agreed we would stop at the first desent sounding restraunt right off the coast. We found The Fishermans Net, looked kinda like a hole in the wall restraunt....which is usually the best kinds =P ANd we were NOT dissappointed. My sister had the Chilean Sea Bass. It was so amazing it just melted in your mouth. I had a rasberry glazed salmon on salad. While it was really good I was jealous of my sisters plate.
I defenatly recommend this place. Great view of the ocean and great friendly informative servers! And spectacular food!
I wish I could eat there all the time. But with the flight it would end up being a $400 bill or so!
