We went with great expectations after two referrals raved about the great ambiance and food, only to be completely disappointed! I guess some people are just easy to please, or just don't know any better. I'm sorry, but I can't say anything good about any of the six meals we ordered. We had to send my daughter's lobster ravioli back. It was inedible. Her friends prime rib looked like a dead possum and tasted like one too! Our friend and my husband's fish sandwich was so dried out and flavorless, he said it was like eating paper. His wife ordered the fried shrimp which was OK, but nothing great and my fettuccine with grilled chicken tasted like a frozen Banquet Dinner. I don't mind spending good money on a meal that's worth it. But to spend close to $200 and not like anything was a huge disappointment! We heard the fish camp next door was much better. Hope this review helps others who appreciate food as much as we do, avoid a big disappointment.
I normally love going to small old resturaunts such as LuLu's Waterfront Grille. It's on the intercoastal and has great potential but the rudeness of the owners really turned me off. It seems to me that the few times I have been a patron of this resturaunt that the employees are unhappy and treated bad and that the owners would rather drink than fix the mold problem that is on the canopy of the outside seating. This place really needs some work and its a shame because the food is great and the location is prime.
We had several tables of diners from our conference descend on this restaurant. It looks run down from the outside, but it is a fun place on the inside. The food was excellent quality with many reasonably priced selections. Service was very attentive and portions were large. The house salad was excellent with fresh field greens. Wine choices were adequate with something for everyone. My only complaint is it is a little noisy in the restaurant. At the conference the next day, all diners had many compliments for their meals and service. They went back the next night because it was so good.
We live here and we like Lulu's.
It's certainly not the Ponte Vedra Club but it has it's place (Palm Valley).
The Sunday Brunch is fun on the deck in cooler times.
The Friday evening Prime Rib Special is also worth a try.
Like all old Florida Fish camps your service depends on your attitude.
My wife and I travel to Ponte Vedra Beach every year for the golf tournament. We had always been told to eat at Lulu's by the locals and through internet reviews.
We finally ate there in the spring of 2007. It was horrible.
The location isn't bad, as it sits on the intercoastal, but the building is an eye sore. The staff was mediocre at best. The food is very below average at best. And the prices are simply atrocious for what you get.
Regardless of what you've heard about this place, skip it.
I have never been to a place where the staff was so rude. We wanted to be seated at a different table from where they origionally placed us (By a smelly waitress station/trash can). After 10 minutes they did move us to a better table and we got SNUBBED the rest of the evening! They treated us like we had stolen their car. We will never go back. Not the cleanest place to eat.
Lulu's Water Front Grille is one of the only seafood resturants we go to for many reasons. The food is excellent and fresh every day. The staff is full of hospitality, and make feel at home. My recomendation would be gator tail... it is the best i have ever tried.
My new favoriteplace for seafood in northeast florida. I had the crab legs my date had the siered ahi tuna. The food was outstanding. The ambiance was loaded with local florida flavor. Excelent place to bring the family or the first date. There is a dock on intercoastal to have a beer or cocktail.
this was the first restaurant our friends took us to when we were visting 1/12 yrs.ago-if you want casual, fun, and a sampling of the good times in ponte vedra, come here-the service people are so sweet-food is not the most important thing-though it is find-the atmosphere on the waters' edge is terific-it is a must in the area.have been back several times-have fun-
