Barnacle Bills Seafood Restaurant
Barnacle Bills has been a local tradition since 1981 when Chris Way, 24 years of age was encouraged by the local mayor to expand on his talents and put what he learned in the restaurant industry to use on a grander scale. In May of 1981, Barnacle Bills was born at 14 Castillo Drive, in the historic downtown district of St. Augustine followed by Barnacle Bills Beach side location in 1997. In the "Best of St. Augustine Awards" and the winner of the " Taste of the Beach" , Barnacle Bills offers a family oriented atmosphere and serves only fresh seafood complemented with a variety of signature entrees, fresh vegetables and homemade desserts.
Saturday night dinner at 6 PM was fine. I do not understand the April 20, 2009 review. The dinner fare, coconut shrimp and the trio seafood platter were very good. The waiter was prompt. attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about but it certainly was clean and fresh, but who is eating atmosphere? Compare it to a Denny's, Shoneys, Bob Evans. I certainly would come back again. Oh, and we were some of those elderly people although I saw quite a few of those mom, dad and two little kids people there. I wonder if we have that old people aroma - we're 67 and 62.
