Barnacle Bills Seafood Restaurant
Barnacle Bills has been a local tradition since 1981 when Chris Way, 24 years of age was encouraged by the local mayor to expand on his talents and put what he learned in the restaurant industry to use on a grander scale. In May of 1981, Barnacle Bills was born at 14 Castillo Drive, in the historic downtown district of St. Augustine followed by Barnacle Bills Beach side location in 1997. In the "Best of St. Augustine Awards" and the winner of the " Taste of the Beach" , Barnacle Bills offers a family oriented atmosphere and serves only fresh seafood complemented with a variety of signature entrees, fresh vegetables and homemade desserts.
Terrific!! My family ate there last Monday night and the service, food and prices were RIGHT ON!! Even my brother was shocked of how huge and delicious his soft crab sandwich was. My fried shrimp was perfect and all those french fries! Our hostess was friendly and very attentative. I have eaten at BB more than five times and have NEVER had a problem with the food or the service. The waitresses are very efficient and friendly. Honestly, I don't know who or what those other patrons expect. If you want to pay an arm and a leg in a hoighty-toighty restaurant for the same high quality food, go for it. Most of the restaurants here in St. Auggie are a relaxed atmosphere for the tourists and the beach goers. When I go out to eat, I EAT, not to rub elbows with the rich. At Barnacle Bill's the food is great and the restaurant is clean and spacious. I highly recommend it and I'll probably see you there on my next visit!!
