A1A Ale Works a acoemust visitac when in historic St. Augustineac| Enjoy a panoramic view of Matanzas Bay from the second floor patio while having lunch or dinner from a unique selection of New World Cuisineac featuring Caribbean, Cuban and Floridian influences. The restaurant also features a working brewery, two bars, along with private and semi-private dining areas for groups and parties.
My wife and I were there for Superbowl weekend 2005. Heard about the place, had The Red Ale? NOT impressed. But the Tom. Basil soup was the best I have EVER eaten! Prices were reasonable, service was excellent and the party was jumpin! Serious party atmosphere with a twist of Old Town romance....NICE! I just wish A1A was in CA. as well!
We are locals and eat at A1A 5-6 times/year. The food is interesting, fresh, and presented well. The servers are courteous and efficient. The place can get loud when it is busy so we don't usually go if we want a romantic night out. This is the restaurant we always take our out of town guests to and they are amazed.
Good beer brewed on the premises. The food is even better than the beer. Try the ceese beer soup & one of the daily specials.
We visit St Augustine 3-4 times a year. This is the only place I insist we go to eat.
