I recently had the pleasure of going back to Buckhead since they have added some new less expensive Prime Steaks on the menu, and let me tell you; they did not skip on the quality at all. In fact for the same price as an Atlanta Prime Steakhouses, you get a Prime Steak, a vegetable and potato of the day and a salad. My dining companion tried the all natural roasted half chicken with a mojo rosemary butter that was to die for. I had the new all natural Bone in Ribeye steak, perfectly cooked, that came with potato and veg. We were not dissapointed at all! If it has been a while since you have been to Buckhead, I highly recommend revisiting, and if you have not been you should try it out! As always we had excellent service, and we cannot wait to go back! It is really nice to have a beautiful, delicious, Prime Steakhouse in this area. We would be lost without it!
FANTASTIC! The food was incredibly delicious, the service fantastic and the ambiance superb. They have several organic options, which was a pleasant surprise and it is a great value for the money. Will definitely return and recommend to everyone we can.
I went to Buckhead for the first time with three friends on Mothers Day. The food was excellent! To start, we ordered the Cesar salad, which tasted great. For my entree, I had the petit filet mignon along with three sides (organic japanese mushrooms & butternut squash & truffled duck fat french fries) -- all excellent! I was treated to a special desert (on the house), since it was my birthday too. It was ok but I'm not a big dessert fan. The waitress also told us that if we sign up for the email list that we will get 25% off coupon the next time we visit. I was very happy with my experience at Buckhead and will definitely be returning with my coupon.
I grew up in Columbus and have wanted to dine at Buckhead Bar and Grill since graduating high school. This past weekend my wife and I were in town visiting relatives and friends. We had Saturday night free to have dinner for just ourselves. On a whim I decided it was time to make that long-delayed visit to Buckhead Bar and Grill a reality. Hands down it was worth the 13-year wait.
We walked in at 7:30 without a reservation and were seated in the bar within 10 minutes on a night when it was obvious the restaurant was busy. Our waiter, Ben, was a delight; extremely personable and professional.
Our dinner was consistently superior. My wife normally is not a red meat eater, but thoroughly enjoyed the filet and lobster cakes. I felt the same about my 8 oz filet. We split a side order of the roasted blue cheese tomatoes which were real juicy. What made the dinner over-the-top was the pecan pie; the best I've ever had.
Horrible dining experience on Saturday, 2/13. I attempted to make reservations early in the day and before my 2 hour drive from Atlanta (to see my son and his girlfriend for the first time in 2 mos). Desite what the website says, the restaurant was not taking reservations. I went ahead and came anyway. When I got in the parking lot (6:45pm), I called to ask how long the wait was. I was told 1 hour. By the time I walked from my car to the restaurant (5 minutes maybe), I was told the wait would be 1 hour and 20 minutes. The truth ended up being over 2 hours. There were empty tables everywhere. Apparently, they didn't bring enough staff in (on the Saturday night before Valentines???). None of this was even the worst part. With all the people waiting (and there were probably 75 or more), there was a total of one bar tender. Now this is a decent size bar. In order to get a drink, you had to wait 20+ minutes. One bar tender all night for a bar and lounge filled with people and all of the tables that had been seated for dinner. This is not an exagerration!
In the end, my party of four dropped over $200. The food was slow (I guess the kitchen was also understaffed). The taste was OK but definitely not good enough to overcome the 3 1/2 hours in the restaurant. The only bright spot was a nice waiter from South Africa named Darren.
Waiting for a table, I bet I had over 10 conversations with ANGRY customers. These are people that live in Columbus and the surrounding area. They won't be back. Me, I had a 2+ hour drive home to Atlanta after this meal. I got home at 12:45am.
I called the restaurant this morning to speak with the proprietor or general manager. I left a VM with no details other than a request to call me. No surprise, no phone call.
I understand that Columbus may not have as many restaurant options as a city like Atlanta but this one should be avoided. Save yourself $100 and three hours of waiting time and go to Outback or something more predictable.
I went to Buckhead with my girlfriend for my 25th birthday few days ago. The place was great, real classy, service was good, our server was real friendly and accomodating, although her friend was snobby, but most importantly, the steak was AWESOME!!!! i had the prime ribeye, and my goodness, never had one like that before, and i've been to some of the finest steakhouses. After dinner ended, they remembered that it was my birthday and brought us some pie which was sweet and delicious FOR FREE...to sum it up: it was a deligthful dining experience and i'll definitely come back for lots more!!!
WARNING: their steaks come charred no matter how you order them (rare, medium, etc) which is quite the norm at fine steakhouses, so if you don't like them charred, you might want to tell them in advance. and try their sauce toppings...the citrus sauce was great..but my favorite is to make the steak OSCAR STYLE...topped with crab meats, asparagus and bearnaise sauce... yumm..
This is the best restaurant I ever ate at in Columbus, Ga, I mean the food was so fancy looking and it was hot and fresh and MANNNN was it delicious, I never licked a plate but when i ate at Buckhead Bar & Grill that was the first time i wanted to do so, And the workers there are so nice and sweet, they made sure that me and my party guest had everything we need to enjoy ourselves. This was my first experience at Buckhead bar & Grill and it was a tremendous one. When i go back to columbus georgia I'm definitely going to eat there again
