Barbara Jeans Restaurant
Barbara Jeanac2s is a family run, multi-unit restaurant operation that began in 1998 on St. Simons Island, Georgia, about fifty miles north of Jacksonville, Florida and 60 miles south of Savannah. We specialize in both seafood and made-from-scratch, home-style cooking. As the Savannah Morning News said in July 2006, acoeItac2s rare that a restaurant can pull off doing both seafood and home-style cooking and do both very well, but Barbara Jeanac2s does just that.ac We take great pride in what we do and know that the most important visit we get from you, our customers, is the next one, and we have to earn that today!
We went there this morning for breakfast and it was AWEFUL. They werent busy and was standing there for 15 mins and then had to ask do we seat ourselfs which she then seated us. We ordered our food and the home fries and omlett was cold. We asked for jelly and was told we are out. Our waiter only came to our table twice one to give us our food and then our bill. Also the people seated next to us the gentlemans they didnt bring him his bacon or cornbread and the son they twice brought out his food and the roder was all wrong everyone else at the table had finished their breakfast after they brought the second one wrong. We will not be ever going back to here
This is one of our favorite restaurants. You have the option of dining inside or outside, which faces the marsh and river. The food is GREAT! My favorite is the curried chicken salad. Each order comes with a basket of absolutely delicious breads - pumpkin, jalapeno cornbread, and whole wheat rolls. The atmosphere is very comfortable and relaxing.
My husband and I got married on Amelia Island in 2003 and had the pleasure of dining at Barbara Jean's Restaurant. The food and ambience added to our bliss! We purchased the cookbook that is offered by the restaurant, and to this day I still make the best potato salad from a fantastic recipe that is offered in this book! Highly recommend this restaurant - try eating outside it is a tropical experience!
