My wife and I went to Cafe Amici for the first time being new to the area with hopes for a great Italian meal with the possibility of some authentic sauces/options. Overall we found it to be good American Italian, better than the other chain options. The service was ok with the hostess seeming rushed with a quick hello and then a seating. Our waitress was friendly but also rushed. My wife had a pesto pasta dish that she enjoyed because it was not an overly heavy pesto you often find, I had the Amici steak that I liked very much, although I felt alittle under cooked or medium well. I was disappointed with the salad, being that it was large chunks of iceberg salad that seemed to have been ripped off the head, I also ordered a penne pasta side with my steak and got linguini, like they had some left over and did not want to make some fresh pene. After getting our meal the waitress disappeared for some time and I had to ask another waiter to get her and he became annoyed when I did not know her name, then he just got more shredded cheese for us. Upon leaving the hostess was not at her place and we received no acknowledgement or thank you upon leaving.
This restaurant has alot of potential if they could bring up their service and quality to what they have advertised as fine dining. For a $50 meal I expect more and probably will not return for sometime.
