Lunch here on January 23, 2012. Two orders, one was combo of fried shrimp and scallops with sides of cole slaw and baked potato; other was fried oysters and scallops with sides of cole slaw and green beans. Both meals were delicious and more than adequate in quantity. The fried portion (including hush puppies) was properly done, light and crispy..they obviously use fresh oil and was not overly coated with breading. Cole slaw was very good, the baked potato well done and tasty and the green beans were well seasoned. The meal was served hot. Cost for each meal was $9.50 which is reasonable for the quantity and quality received.
We hope to travel that way again and will stop there for food.
Restaurant is not new, but it is clean.
Other meals we saw brought out while we were there, also looked delicious and properly done.
Definitely recommend if you love seafood.
The food is ok but way overpriced. The restaurant itself is just plain dirty. The worst part is the attitude of indifference by the employees. They can't be bothered. I'll go to Red Lobster and pay the same price for good food and service and not feel like I am sitting in a pigpen. They can keep it!
Hi me and my wife loves cedar river seafood, everytime we go on vacation to flordia we stop in at cedar river going and coming. This weekend we were on vacation and stopped by for some good old seafood, however it seems that the carpet in the restaurnat needs to be cleaned or replaced, it has a bad order when you walk into the forure, and even when you enter the restaurant itself please get this seen about and then you will have a good clean enviroment, because the food is great.
We are from Kentucky and where in Jacksonville on vacation. Came acrossed this small family restaurant and decided to stop. There was so much food brought to us for two people that we could hardly eat all of it. We always try to go to the newer well known restaurants when out of town. But this trip I learned it is good to listen to the locals and you will soon find out that the smaller family owned restaurant could soon become your favorite too!!!!!!!!!!
My family has always enjoyed Cedar River Seafood. The food has always been great however the last time we were in there, the flounder we ordered was tough around the edges. This was the first time that happened. Could be a one time thing. Also to me, it's either too hot or too cold in the building. Last time, it was way too hot. Turn down that thermostat please.
The food is pretty good. Just don,t set near the kitchen!!!! I had a tray of hot coffee spilt down my back, the manger never came out to see if I was ok. After 3 phone calls latter they did offer me one free dinner but never asked if I was ok.
