We love Steak & Shake and look for them when we travel (there are none where we live). So we stopped for lunch on our way through GA on I-95. The service was bad - there was a server in training following our server around and if he learns those bad habits the cycle will continue. We were seated immediately and about 10 minutes later the lady who was cleaning the tables came over and asked if anyone had been by so we said no. Maybe 5 minutes later we finally were approached by trainer and trainee which slowed the process even more. To add insult to the slow service, the place relies on the attached Pilot Travel Center for their restrooms. The restrooms were dirty and smelled like they had not been cleaned in a week - I am just glad my wife carries hand disinfectant in her purse and I was not eating a sandwich. Anyway - still love Steak & Shake but will not stop at this one again. Maybe Steak & Shake management should look into this poor service and restroom situation.
i love Steak n Shakes but the one in Brunswick Ga honestly is the most rude unorganized resteraunt I have ever eaten at. We waited 20 mins just to get waited on (mind it wasnt busy when we got there)then 40 mins later only part of our lunch was brought out, after all my party was done eatting my and my husbands dinner was brought out. On top of it the vegie beef soup tasted runt and the coffee tasted a WEEK old. The manager said she would comp all our drinks and the two meals that wasnt ever brought out until everyone was through eating and NONE of this was done. I wish I knew how to turn this resteraunt in. I will NEVER go to again and recomend that if you are hungry go ahead and find somewhere down the road to eat.
During my travels, I frequently visit Steak & Shake and get a great hamburger made fresh to order with real sirloin beef. It is great! The only exception is you do need to get at least a double hamburger to actually get a good taste of the meat and not just the bread.
