My family went to Zachry's almost every day while on vacation. The food and staff were outstanding! If you love key lime pie, they have the best you will ever eat! If you do not go to Zachry's you are really missing out. It is by far the best restaurant on the island. Go have dinner and enjoy and dont forget the key lime pie!
The owner/manager? was extremely unfriendly!!! The flounder was undercooked...dangerous!! Other than that the food was ordinary. We did however have a great waiter!!
We called first to see if we could order our food for take-out and was told that we could but they didn't know how long it would be. Shouldn't our take-out ticket be placed in line like all other's?
I gave them a second chance...they blew it!!!
Me and my boyfriend decided to try this restaurant while we were in Jekyll Island for the weekend. We went in despite it not looking very nice from the outside. We were seated quickly and ordered and it went downhill from there. The place was so dirty and everyone was so close to each other, Our waitress barely even waited on us, the food was awful, I ordered the scallops and they tasted like dish water and my boyfriend ordered the oysters and we both barely ate any of it. It ended up making us sick that night and now we are cancelling the bill on the credit card because they seem to not put the right phone number on the bill. Oh and it was WAY too expensive for that food, youd be better to go to a mc donalds! The entrees cost around 17 each.
I decided to try this restaurant during my stay at Jekyll two weeks ago. To the previous reviewers, what's so great about this hole in the wall? My family had to sit right next to the door; so close to the entrance that we could actually smell the body odor of the guests waiting inside. Our waiter was friendly and only served a couple tables but took an extraordinary long time to serve our drinks and to take our orders. My six dollar shrimp cocktail appetizer came with 6 medium sized shrimp and some ketchup - unappetizing and one dollar per boiled shrimp. The main course, consisting of three types of seafood, was bland, fried with no noticeable marinade. Skip this place and go to Latitude 31 or the Rah Bar instead.
We are Americans living in Canada. I took my 2 adult daughters to visit Jekyll Island as they'd never been there. Jekyll is my favorite place to visit and I admit I'm in love with the place. The one thing the island has improved on, in relation to restaurants, is that it now has Zachary's Seafood Restaurant. We ate there every night during our stay. Each meal was delicious and we were so impressed with the service which was so friendly and laid back. I'm looking forward to another trip down as soon as I am able to do so. Guess where I'll be taking my meals!
