Borrell Creek Landing, St Marys

My husband and I were visiting Cumberland Island and heard about this excellent restaurant. The food was outstanding and would compare with the finer restaurants in Atlanta, GA. The service was excellent and what a view of the marshes. Picture Perfect. The chef lived up to his reputation. We will definitely go back. AAA+++++++++++

My husband and I went there recently. The food was great, but it was a little expensive. We paid over $40 for lunch, and the decor doesn't seem like it has improved much from the earlier reviews. The tables are worn, the chairs and the flatware are mismatched, and the service was very slow. Very friendly, but very slow. Maybe they were busier for lunch than they are used to, but I'd go back. I liked the food enough to go back again, and the mismatched chairs, etc, didn't really bother us so much - it just didn't look like it fit in well with the menu prices.

The view was beautiful over the marsh. We both had the shrimg dinner and really enjoyed it. For the price you received a good amount of food. Our server was very good. I would go there again.

We had dinner there yesterday (7/24/2008). I ordered a ribeye steak and was served and piece that was carved off the end. My fiancee's lobster was water-logged, her steak was burned, and her shrimp were dry and tasteless. they were offended that we had the audascity to send this junk back. The hostess was rude and nasty and suggested that maybe we should not order seafood in the future. I suggested that they should learn how to properly preapare meals as requested.

We went there for our anniversary dinner and had Stuffed Shrimp and Chicken Borrell. The food was good, but the pre-dinner rolls were more like biscotti than rolls. The service was excellent, and the view at dusk was beautiful over the marsh. The atmosphere was business casual, and the Friday night piano player was quite good. The dinner ended up being quite reasonable for 2 people with drinks and dessert.

We (Betty & I ) used this place for new year's eve, on the way to the gator bowl (Let's go Mountaineers) we enjoyied the food and liked the decor....It was dark when we arrived and on the way out we fed the family of racoons below the deck.......thinking of going back soon? wvajim

I took my wife here for our anniversary. The shrimp and scallops were good but the fish on both our orders (she ordered grouper) was mushy and watery. They just happened to have some type of Asian farm raised catfish on special. When we asked what it was they said it was just like grouper. Don't believe it. When you pay $16 for grouper and you get a piece of palm sized mush you should just sent it back.

We went to Borrell Creek Landing with high expectations, it looked charming from the highway, sitting on Borrell Creek. The inside of the restaurant is starting to look run down, it has not been well kept. The food is over priced and a let down. Meager portions, over cooked, dried-out steak, and inattentive service. The tacky decor further brings it down. It seems management and/or the owners are trying to make it an elegant establishment for Saint Marys but lack inspiration.

Well when my friends and I got there no one was there to seat you we stood there forever. When we finally got a seat they would barely check on us, take forever with our stuff as for the whole time they were so wonderful to every one else, even the mngr. all because I guess its suppose to be dressy and we were not. Plus the food was not all that good and sure wasn't not worth the price.
