This is for the new Hibachi across the street that these people opened. The food is Great but the proportions are awful. The Hibachi Steak and Shrimp is $8.95 and my 18 month old ate it ALL and was still hungry. There were 3 shrimp, 5 pieces of Steak, 3 pieces of Chicken (don t know where that fits into a steak and shrimp?), a few vegetables, and a lot of rice. The steak sauce that we all love was a tiny container and they were outraged when I asked for a 2nd one.
TERRIBLE!!! The worst Buffet that I ve ever been to! We went there at 2 pm and there was no food out except for a few pieces of chicken and some fries. And because they closed at 3 they would NOT bring out any food! Absolutely, hands down the worst dining experience ever. Ended up paying $24 for me and my 6 year old just to eat some stale chicken and dried up watermelon. They don t even refill your drinks. Stay away from this place, or at least don t go in after 12, and if you do, please write a review. I promised the other shocked diners that I would tell of this awful experience.
The four star rating is just for the food and is relative to the Valdosta area .... after all it's not San Francisco, Santa Clara or New York.
First let me tell you that I have been a professional chef in the San Francisco Bay Area for over twenty years and have eaten more Asian food then most. In addition, I have operated a cooking school for the last decade so I think that I can offer a learned opinion. We recently moved to the Valdosta/Lake park area and I been to three other Chinese restaurants in the area before writing this review. One criticism that covers all is their lack of a good chicken stock, which diminish the quality of all their products, that said try the buffet at Lins Garden. The location is nondescript as is the decor and like many immigrants to gold mountain the operators cultural universe is different from ours, and that explains the seeming cluttered environment that features the storage of sodas and other food stuffs in sight of the diner. Just remember that the operator has an A rating from the health department and that is all that matters to me.
Metal tableware and hard plates at the buffet helps to make the dining experience better than other operators who feature complete plastic service. What puts Lins above the rest is the expertise of the kitchen and the care they bestow on their constructs. At all the other restaurants I have tried the dishes, no matter what they are called, seem to all taste the same and lack what the Japanese call Unomi or the fifth taste. But at Lins I could easily detect both the high heat of the wok used to cook the ingredients and the deft hand of the cook in applying spices, condiments and sauces Although I have only had the buffet offerings years of experience tells me that the ala cart items will be just as good. If you want standard food that is little better than most food courts go to the Royal Buffet in Valdosta where everything taste the same and the ambiance is like thousands of other Chinese buffets around the country. If you want some good solid Cantonese preparations try Lins.
The staff may not seem friendly another cultural thing that will disappear with time and patronage if you yourself are cordial. The location, decor and employee personality may be a little lacking but $6.95 will get you a satisfying buffet meal a in the lake park area seven days a week.
I have been eating at this restaurant for over 5 years. The food has always been outstanding!
Best crab rangoon and General Tsao's chicken anywhere. I am not related to owner or family.
This restaurant is the best Chinese Restaurant in the Valdosta/Lake Park area, bar none.
Sure the building is a little old, but the kitchen has been rated excellent, food delicious, and customer service great! I order take out every other week from here. Love it!
The other review must have been written by the owner, my wife and I went here once and will never go back. The decor is awful to say the least everything is dirty and unappetizing the food is horrible.
