I'm shocked that this place even recieved one remotely bad thing said about it! My husband and I just moved down from North Carolina where we had most of our Sushi meals at Miyabi. We were having the hardest time finding a place that matched quality and experience with Miyabi. And this hole in the wall Sushi house BLOWS Miyabi clear out of the water! My husband and I ordered 4 rolls and took most of it home, because the portions were huge! i do wish they were cut a little smaller at times, because I feel sushi is best enjoyed in small portions, but I had never seen rolls that large. They were amazing and so delicious, not bland in the least bit. We tried the Pink Salmon roll, Dynamite roll, Towa special roll, and I think the Philly roll.. I think it was called.. Regardless the whole meal was Delightful! Very fresh fish, and very artistically executed and served on a big wooden chopping block. The service was really wonderful as well, they were attentive and courteous. If you've had a bad experience here, I recommend you give it one more shot. It was the best sushi i've ever had.
the sushi in this place was known for its local and friendly service and cheap sushi. Now new management has started and they tripled the prices and all the previous chefs and servers left. Its not worth it pay the price for a sushi place that is worth the price. The quality of food does not compare to the prices.
I agree wholeheartedly with the previous comments. Unfortunately, this business has recently suffered some sort of new management or something. The sushi chefs whom I've come to love have all left and are no longer worker here. Yes, the sushi has always been perfect, much better than any place in Savannah. Most importantly, the sushi was so fresh. My last visit was a complete and utter disappointment. The salmon was very opague and chalky tasting. It was looked and tasted like old, frozen fish. I sent it back for tuna, hoping it would be better. It was the same. Seriously, I've made better sushi at my house. Don't waste your money on this place anymore. They've jacked up the price and lowered the quality of food. Go somewhere that will give you a decent meal.
A little more expensive than Sakura or Hirano's, but it's completely worth the cost. The food is always fresh and delicious. Service is friendly and prompt. The large, filling entrees come with a complimentary cucumber salad. The chef often offers seasonal sushi specials, such as the Tropical Roll (banana, mango, and avacado) during. Don't forget to try the shrimp sauce! The ambiance is about and nice as Sushi Zen downtown.
The food is excellent - the fish is very fresh, and they carry my favorite Okinawan beer - Orion! It's pretty hard to find a vendor that caries it, and, I'll admit, it's one of the main reasons why I go there - not to discount the food in the least, though!
