Jalapenos Mexican Grill, Savannah

It is NOT authentic Mexcain food. It's a sit down Mexican restaurant that caters to Gringos. I rarely see Hispanic's in the restaurant unless they work there. A Tostaguac is NOT Mexican food, but some Taco Bell like creation. The Margaritas are alright, but when you order the Fish bowl sized one you're not going to remember if it's good or bad. Unfortunatly it's about the best in Savannah, but that's because good Mexican food is hard to find. The Pico de Gallo is never very fresh and the tortillas are just so-so. You can tell them don't make them at the restaurant.

For Savannah, this is probably my top pick for mexican food. If you dont know what to order.. try the Chicken Chimichanga or The Gringa... and always order the cheese dip for your chips. Also, they always ask if you want rice OR beans... you can always ask for half rice & half beans.... it makes the meal much better when you get them both. If you have children, order them a (cheese) quesadilla and a side of rice.. its not on the kids menu but my kids prefer this meal over any other one on the menu, as do i. :)

I've been there a few times and have loved the food (Abercorn location). That could also be because I've gone during the happy hour 5-7 where they have 2 for 1 margaritas!

Really like this place and go often. Price is reasonable and margaritas (frozen) are great. I've had better mexican food, but the food is good. I have to rate it that way because the steak meat isn't very good. Great salsa! The staff at the Whitemarsh Island location are great! Always nice and friendly have a smile on their face.

I once loved Jalapenos on Abercorn. A recent stop for food to go was a mistake. They've changed hands? recipes? cooks? Maybe it was a bad day.

If you're just looking to drink, then you'll love this place. But if you plan to eat, look elsewhere. Me and a friend got food poisoning from this restaurant and i've heard that they have the worst health department rating in the city. The service was horrible as well. The waiter took half of our drink orders then walked away without asking if our other two guests would like anything! If you want to end up in the hospital, I would definite recommend this restaurant. But I would rather die than eat there again. (this is in reference to the Jalapeno's on Abercorn St.)

Save your money and go somewhere else. Being from Texas my expectations are high, but I would have rather eaten at Taco Bell.

Great value, giant beers, hot chips and spicy salsa. The service is absolutely great - it's faster than fast food. They are still able to deliver the taste of old Mexico. I can't say enough about this place - we have been to many mexican restaurants and none have compared to Jalapenos.

It has delicious food and the service is nice. The margaritas are good - on the rocks with real tequila, unlike some mexican restaurants. There is a fully-stocked central bar if you have to wait for a seat or just want a drink. They've remained consistently good over the years. Many popular restaurants have quality that degrades over time as soon as they build a customer base.
