Carey Hilliards Restaurants, Pooler

Carey Hilliard's Restaurant in Pooler, Ga is not far from the I-95 route that carries travellers north and south. As a traveller, I had not heard of this chain of restaurants that are similar, in my opinion, to Denny's in many ways including level of food prep, price and menus with photos of what you should expect. The baked chicken platter was to be a change from a day of restaurant disappointments for breakfast and lunch. The portion size was okay, but the chicken contained too much salt, probably from saline injection of the meat. A baked potato and side of green beans or cole slaw goes with the platter. This experience was not a lot better, but it was not a surprise for about $8. Service was friendly, the dining room was clean and for what it was, it was not bad. For those who are looking for something more substantial for supper, at least, try another place that may have more promise. For breakfast or lunch on the road, Carey Hilliard's may be just fine. Credit cards are accepted and the place is not going to have surprises unless something really good or bad happens.
