Georges' on Tybee

For a taste of some Tybee Island's finest cuisine, stop in at this elegant spot located just a mile in from the Lazaretto Creek Bridge. The intimate, friendly setting welcomes guests, although the ambiance is a touch more upscale than most island joints. A lively bar provides more laid-back fun, as well as full service for the restaurant.
We visited Georges' for my birthday and had a really good time. The appetizers were really good. The shrimp dishes were really fresh with shrimp caught locally.
Great fresh taste right on the ocean. I really enjoyed the appetizers, shrimp, cheese sticks and onion rings. For lunch I had a simple grilled cheese sandwich and even it was very tasty!
We went to George's while visiting Tybee with my in-laws. We happened to come on a Thursday where you could try lots of different appetizers for reduced prices. The food was very fresh and extremely good.
We live on Tybee Island and have been going to Georges' since it opened. No need to leave the island for wonderful food and atmosphere. We take all our visitors there and they are always impressed.
Love Thursday nights when you can sample the whole menu.
AS ALWAYS THE MEAL WAS SUPERB: PREPARED PROPERLY: PRESENTATION OUTSTANDING:
FIRST SERVER WAS DISAPPOINTING:MISHANDLED THE WINE ORDER SERVED A WARM WINE AND THEN COULD NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM: WE ASKED THAT THE WINE BE PLACED IN A BUCKET TO CHILL AND WAS CHILLED PROPERLY MID WAY THRU MAIN COURSE.SHE ONLY RETURNED WITH THE BILL, REST OF THE STAFF PICKED UP HER SLACK.
This is possibly the best restaurant on Tybee. Defintely the highest cuisine I had when there. Nice wine list and interesting menu. The resturant is elegant and the service was good. The orange-chocolate torte was spectacular! Go and be prepared to pay for a great meal. If you want inexpensive, this is not your place.
My wife and I dined at Georges' on new years eve with several other couples. We were seated promptly for our 9 pm reservation. Our main course didn't arrive until after midnight. Food is fair but GROSSLY overpriced. Slow, sloppy service.
Renovated historic one story building houses among the best in Southern chefery and service. Highly rated by national travel and eatery mags, this quaint restaurant offers tasty southern dishes than lack the lard. Excellent servicve. Owner greets customers and ensures they'll always be taken care of -- by George himself. Excellent.
Went with two others couples, felt it was extremely overpriced for what you were getting. The staff were friendly but not very professional taking plates whilst guests were still eating etc.. would never go back Olde Pink House is fantastic.
It was a pleasure. It was a suprise as we had just dropped in to check it out.We were traveling from s.Fla.in our motorhome and the resturant was close. Our server Mia was about as good as they get.The wine was great(nice glasses). The food was to be remembered. The ambiance was very nice and warming. We have more pleple meeting us here and we can't wait to take them to Georges...We would recommend it to everyone. If anyone having a motorhome and staying at the Rivers end R.V.resort on Tybeee island don't miss going to Georges.
