Soho South Cafe
This dainty cafe is located within the Savannah Fine Arts Gallery, and is open six days a week for lunch only. Choose from a pleasant menu of light and artful creations, including quiches, sandwiches, salads and soups. Daily lunch specials are posted daily, but the grilled salmon club sandwich and roasted portobella mushroom burger are longstanding favorites. Hungry museum-goers have also been known to pop in for the desserts alone, which are legendary on the Savannah art scene.
This place is so quaint and the decor is very different from any place I have ever been. There is a lot to do while waiting on your table. I especially enjoyed looking at all of the art they had for sale. Very unique stuff. The wait staff is friendly and the food is excellent. You must try the tomato basil bisque.
It was great! The design is so tasteful along with in-restaurant store it was great! It was beatiful with the assortment of styles with the furniture it really is nice.
I would recommend it to anyone! I had a great time and the service was wonderful. The prices were very reasonable and the food was ecsquisite!
Though this cafe started out with only a couple of tables in an art warehouse, it has grown into one of Savannah's most popular eateries. It still sits in the heart of downtown Savannah, in the same art warehouse. The food is outstanding. With all types of choices from quiche and sandwiches, to full entrees, and the most delectable desserts, you can't go wrong for lunch or dinner!
my friend and i just happened upon this restaurant this past tuesday night-we loved it! both of us had excellent seafood dishes-the crab cakes were outstanding! we especially enjoyed our engaging server, michael, as well. the sous chef even came out and introduced himself and asked us if we enjoyed our meal. i was impressed! the art gallery is really cool, too. i highly recommend it! i included some photos i took of this really nifty, funky, eclectic place that anyone visiting savannah has got to experience!
Soho Cafe is a wonderful place for lunch. It's an art gallery/coffee shop/bakery/used book library. You never mind waiting for your table because there is so much to see and do while you wait.
With an eclectic mix of seating available...from umbrella tables to 1960's dinette sets, you will enjoy the view. Art work adorns every wall.
Oh, and the food is soooo good. Daily specials include a soup selection (if you like tomato bisque, you MUST try this signature soup), quiche, and usually a specialty sandwich special.
When I entertain customers for lunch, I always take them to the Soho which I am doing on Monday.
Love it....can you tell???
