Four of us dined at the Cobblestone Cafe for brunch on a Sunday morning. We were quickly shown to a table and our drink orders were taken by our very personable waiter. He even included a brief history of the building and the aesthetics. Our waiter informed us of the daily special; Eggs Benedict with crab meat and a spicy red pepper sauce, and French toast with either peaches or apples. My daughters each had the French toast and my husband had the eggs Benedict. They all loved their meals! I opted for Special #2; 2 eggs with bacon and hash browns. All of us enjoyed our meals. The portions were very plentiful and the prices were appropriate. The atmosphere is typical cafe/diner. Our waiter was very attentive, without being bothersome. Hot and cold drinks were refilled quickly. Our only complaint was that there was a draft of cold air underneath the large sliding cotton warehouse doors that we were sitting near. But the food was so good, it wasn't a huge bother.

Bad. It's in a cental location, a walk from several hotels and advertises breakfast all day, which is maybe why they can survive with serving overpriced, bad food. Being that we went in the off season, it wasn't too crowded and we didn't have to wait long- but, even in the low lighting, once you sit down, you realize it is dirty. The host/manager was confused, or rude or both. I'm not sure. I just spent three days in Savannah and I love the town. There are a million restaurants to try and I enjoyed all the others. I guess when you're on vacation you want every experience to be good. The Cobblestone experience is like the bad Waffle House you'd go to in your home town if you didn't know better.

Good food. Good service. Coffee was average. Pricey for what you get. Dark and very little A/C. An OK breakfast spot.

I agree it is terrible food. But it wasn't always that wat. Four years ago my wife and I went there and the food was reasonable in price and it was fantastic. We were there in April 2008 and I would not try to feed the food to a goat!

Yes,this IS the worst dining experience in America. My husband and I spent 4 days in Savannah the end of May 2008 and had breakfast in this cafe our 3rd morning. It was DISGUSTING. The food was horrible...I wanted to get up and leave, but my husband won't do that. The coffee tasted like swill. The fact that it has an alley entrance should be your first clue. I am sure it was dirty. Huey's and Mardi Gras something on Bay St. were much better choices for breakfast.

Worst restaurant in Savannah
By Carlie, 5/30/06
All we wanted was some breakfast. We we got was a 45 minute wait for a table, then a 40-minute wait for food. It might not have been so bad, but my waffle was cold, my bacon was thin as paper, my husband asked for home fries and got 8 (yes, just 8) small chunks of potatoes. Everything is overpriced- plan to spend $30 for a horrible breakfast. Extremely bad service, other tables around us complained as well.

can only dine at one spot in Savannah? this is it
By JulieA, 6/27/05
Seriously - if you can only choose one of the wonderful restaurants Savannah has to offer - Make it the Cobblestone Cafe. It's a tad spendy, plan on at least $25 per person (except they did have a great children's menu with selections under $6). The food here is simply exceptional. I couldn't begin to contemplate how they get all the wonderful flavors into their meals. Super service. A relaxed casual atmosphere that belies the quality of the food.
