Clary's Restaurant, Savannah

Went to the restaurant because of the movie, loved the place because of the food. Little diner with good sandwiches for lunch. Decent prices for Savannah.

you have to eat brunch here! We go every time we are in Savannah. The price is very right! It is in the book...You know the one I mean.

It's a really great hole in the wall restaurant. I say hole in the wall because passing it in the street, you would not know it to be such a little treasure. They serve diner style food with all of the Savannah character. They even have treats for your pets! I enjoyed the experience and will probably eat there again soon.

Clary's is a favorite spot for my wife and I to visit when we are in Savannah. We stay in a bed and breakfast a few streets down from Clary's and we love going there for lunch. Their sweet tea is to die for!!! It is a dessert by itself. We definitely recommend this cafe to everyone!

Excellent lunch, great prices, good portions. We're going back for breakfast tomorrow. Who care about the famous book blah blah. Great food great service!

My first visit to Clary's was last April. I intend to go again this month ( April 08). My wife and I stopped on our way out of town. I had the waffles with strawberries and cream cheese. It was fantastic. My wife hada regular breakfast of eggs, bacon etc. and it was also very good. I love Savannah and I need to move there.

Was not impressed. Arrived an hour before they closed on Sunday and they acted annoyed. Ordered pancakes and my friends ordered salads. Pancakes were chewy and the salads looked from a bag. Overhyped and disappointing.

As maybe the only person in Savannah who had not read The Book or watched the movie, I went to Clary's Cafe for the food. The location downtown was pretty crowded, so we went over to the Clary's on Abercorn (on the other side of Victory). We got right in and you could tell it was a little local diner. I got the cheese blintzes which came with little cups of applesauce, cinnamon apples, sour cream, and one other flavor which I can't remember. My friend got the Oglethorpe which included two pancakes basically the size of your head along with lots of other food. Our waitress was really friendly and kept our glasses refilled. Our meals were in the $7-12 range, but we were full enough until late afternoon. Unfortunately, we were so stuffed that we didn't try to eclairs, but they looked delicious.

What a rip-off people. This place is terrible!! So this place is rumored to be in the movie and book... so what!! It looks like a quaint little nice mom and pa neighborhood wholesome diner in the heart of historic downtown Savannah, but what a croc! Worst breakfast I had. Waffle House is 4-stars compared to this. Yeah, the place is busy cause of the hype, but that's just it... HYPE!!! Orange juice was $3.99 for their large and about smaller size than Mcdonald's orange juice. Definitely not fresh squeeze or up to the taste of Florida's OJ. French toast was plain and bland as a piece of wood. The eggs were tasteless. Biscuits were hard and so dry. The cornbeef hash looked like barf... Among many others wrong with the setting, the employees and cooks aren't what you would call "good citizens" looking types. Let just say, have you seem the documentary in the Supermax prison on the discovery channel? I am not gonna to say about what the lunch and dinner hold. If a place is good, then all day will be good. I'm not going anymore.

We do not visit Savannah without eating at Clarys. Always great! The service and food are a delight. Get there early to avoid a wait.
