I needed to travel to Waynesboro to meet with someone over lunch. Having not ever been to Waynesboro, I searched online for a restaurant there. I didn't want the everyday kind of place. Based on (1) the reviews here and (2) the picture on Google Street View, I suggested Taylor's Barbecue. I made the right choice. We needed to occupy a table for 3 hours -- no problem. The food was reasonably priced ($6.40 for the lunch special and $8.50 or so for the rib plate), came in satisfying portions, and was good southern cooking -- even had cornbread griddle cakes. The staff was friendly and helpful -- the dining room attendant was attentive but not hovering. It's not a fancy place, but I would recommend it. Directions on Google Maps seem to be outdated -- looking at the satellite image, it appears that actual road configuration has changed since the last time Google Maps was updated. Mapquest seems to be no better. That's not the fault of Taylor's BBQ. If you have a reason to eat lunch (or supper) near Waynesboro, Taylor's would be a good choice.
