Nacoochee Grill, Helen

I was a little scared to try this place after reading some of the reviews. But someone local urged us to eat here. I had the trout and my husband had prime rib. We were very pleased with our meals. We went on a Saturday night so they were a little busy, but we only had to wait about 10 minutes. We would definitely dine here again.

This is a horrible place to eat. I have been there many times several years ago, and the food and service were great. Now it seems as though every member of the staff is on drugs. The food was horrible, took way to long to prepare, and the service was lousy. On top of the horrible food, we could hear the staff having a huge fight in the kitchen. I complained to the manager, who offered to comp my bill, but then he did not. Will never eat here again. If you are looking for a good dining experience, you will not get it here, and you will pay way too much for it!

I wish I had read some of these reviews instead of the reviews on the restaurant website. My husband and I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. Our server was not friendly or fast. It was not crowded, but we had to wait forever for our food which gave us time to notice all of the flies in the restaurant. When our food finally came, we had to constantly shoo the flies away from our plates! Surely, a health department violation. I need to mention that we were not eating outside! My husband had the grilled pork chops which were not very good. I had shrimp and grits which I had never had before, so I have nothing to compare them to. They were good. The iced tea was not good, either. They have really missed the mark with this restaurant. We will not be back and will not recommend this to anyone!

Overall a good place to eat. I had the hamburger with pimento cheese and the baked beans...it was very tasty and cooked just as I had ordered. My daughter had the chicken breast with potatoes which she really enjoyed. The staff was friendly and service was prompt.

Nacoochee Grill is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always wonderful, the service is friendly & fast, and the wine from the area is excellent. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I ate at the Nacoochee Grill a few weeks ago and we won't go back. Our food took forever, and there was only a couple of other tables in the whole restaurant. When our food finally arrived, it was terrible. The recommended curry potato salad was awful, and her burger (ordered medium) was way past done. The manager (who was,let's just say, very inappropriately dressed) came to our table and was very snooty and condescending. Maybe they were just having an off day, but we won't return to find out.

What a great restaurant. We traveled from South Georiga to Helen and stayed at a hotel in town. We ask the front desk of a great local restaurant and they refered us to The Nacoochee Grill. What a great suggestion!!! The food and service were wonderful!!!! My only wish is that they offered a larger wine selection. We will be back!

Was very, very dissapointed. The wait for the food was long, the food was not very good (that is being generous) and the prices were to high (in comparison to the quality). On the positive the waitress was very friendly, but she had to many tables to be attentive.
