Selling itself as "Atlanta's Only Nightclub for Big Kids," this large dance club draws a well-dressed, forty-plus crowd most nights. Sinatra and the Big Bands are the popular sounds, but musical selections often run the gamut from 1940s swing sounds through the disco era and into the rock of the 1980s. An inexpensive, respectable menu offers breakfast at anytime, plus steaks, chops, chicken and sandwiches. An all-you-can-eat happy hour buffet is spread each weeknight. Check the website events calendar (including Texas Hold 'Em tournaments and Ladies Night), photos, menus, and details about the "Sinatra Room."
DON T GO HERE!!! Went with approx 8 other women & were told we were to loud & disruptive. Half our table were byting their drinks at the bar, 2 were not drinking which left 3 being served at table- in 2 hrs the bill was over $200!! they padded that bill so high & when I requested to see manager to discuss it I wa told they would call the cops & have me escorted out if I didnt just shut up & pay the tab! I will NEVER go back to this slimeball joint!
You have to embrace what the place is. A mix of 20 somethings to 80 somethings dancing elbow to elbow. If you hate smoke or crowds, go during the week. If your thing is a neighborhood dance place trapped in the disco era, Johnny's is for you. The biggest surprise is the food is actually good. You can valet or park yourself across the street. Lots of staff keep the ladies feeling safe.
Likely the most disgusting place I have ever been in. The smoke, the desperate crowd, and the nerve of the place charging $5 cover when most people I saw go in left 10 minutes later, like me! I've got no problem with middle-agers and seniors trying to find love, but is this all you can find? yuch!
The music is all over the chart, with an excellent DJ that knows how to read the crowd. It doesn't matter what day of the week you go, it has something great to offer....stress relief! The staff will quickly get to know your likes and dislikes, and I find that they keep an active eye on what is going on around the premises. I feel safe there, almost as if in the presence of family.
