Description

Zab-E-Lee is Atlanta's best bet for Thai cuisine. Patrons are well-aware that the cooking is fresh, authentic and pretty terrific. Located conveniently near the airport for those wanting to catch a good meal instead of airline food, it works out quite reasonably. Not much in the way of fancy decor here, just unpretentious Asian specialties with oodles of flavor and spice. Bring your own alcoholic beverages, beer or wine.

About five days ago I was treated here and I had nothing but great things to say...today, I went on my own and the quality of food is so poor, I am so disappointed. The rice is so wet and mushy the flavor is apparently drowned out by the rice. The shrimp aren't big and flavorful like they were a few days ago. At first I just called to inform them but every bite irritated me more therefore, I took the Thia Rice w/shrimp back and informed the gentleman that I wanted to give him a chance to re-do the order. The courtesy is still the same, very nice however, when he took the food I promise you it appears the he thru the same mushy rice in the pan, tossed it around and gave me the same back. He had me taste it, and I told him it's still mushy, he explained that the quality changes depending on the type of rice used. I must go back and update my reviews on all of the sites. Sincerely.

I was a loyal customer to zabelee because of its location and the food was pretty decent. That all changed recently when I orderd to-go and one of the items I ordered(fried squid) was spoiled with an odor. I called about the problem and was quickly hurried off of the phone with the manager saying he will give me a new order(I didnt want it) so I demanded my money which was granted to me. But, I will not patron this business anymore and I am looking for a new Thai/sushi restaurant in th South Atlanta area.

The Thai food is excellent there. After eating there, Im hooked. I dont want any other Thai restaurant in atlanta. The size portion is big as well, enough to take home and warm uo the following day. Also reasonable prices.

I no longer have to travel to the north side of town to get terrific Thai dishes. It is the best keep secret in the neighborhood. The owners are warm and carrying. Please visit this restaurant. I would hate to see good people and food leave the neighborhood.

This is the most awesome Thai restaurant on the PLANET! Trust me, I've tried everything including the really pricey ones on the Northside. What this place lacks in location, it makes up for in the food and service. The sticky rice is awesome. You have GOT to try either a Thai tea or Thai coffee while you are there... you are going to be glad you went!

Did they change?!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/19/07
I'm reading the glowing reviews for Zab-E-Lee and I'm confused! For years my partner and I ate at Zab-E-Lee EVERY Saturday night, it was the best, not to mention some of the cheapest, Thai food around! They even knew us by name! One Saturday a few years ago though we showed up for our usual Thai fix and EVERYTHING had changed, for the worse. The tom ka soup was bland and watery and they switched from delectable straw mushrooms to just regular white mushrooms and I could no longer detect the familiar, fragrant lemongrass. The spring rolls had been replaced by egg rolls, they had no resemblance to Thai spring rolls with minced pork, shrimp, carrots, cilantro and vermecelli. They were just plain old egg rolls stuffed with cabbage. Don't get me started on the entrees! This stuff was garbage! I don't know what happened but evidently someone bought Zab-E-Lee and they were NOT Thai. When I want Chinese food I go to a Chinese restaurant, when I want Thai food I don't go to a Chinese restaurant which is what I think Zab-E-Lee had become. After reading these new reviews maybe we'll try it again. I hope that they actually have gotten some of that magic back as it is not that fun to drive all the way to Buckhead from College Park to get some decent Thai take-out.

I think this place is the best!I have been going there for 3 years now. The servics it just greats, like they try to make you feel like a friend they know forever. And if you ever think of stopping by make sure to try the Seafood Salad or the Spicy Seafood. And also the prices are one of the cheapest around.
