Excellent Value!
Q's represents excellent value for traditional southern-style dishes prepared and served in a quaint and simple venue located just across the street from the East Point MARTA station. For just $4.99 you can get an entree with two vegetables and cornbread, or for $3.99 you can get a vegetable plate which includes three vegetables and cornbread. They also serve made-to-order sandwiches featuring Boar's Head meats and cheeses.
I typically find myself eating here at least on a weekly basis. The ladies that operate the restaurant are always friendly, and the food is consistent for the most part. Rarely, very rarely in fact, I have noticed slight changes in the way certain dishes taste, but this is sporadic and can probably be attributed to a mistake that was made when preparing a dish. I have never walked out of the restaurant disappointed, though.
For starters, I would recommend the country fried steak as an entree. It is very flavorful, and the portion usually generous. In regards to side items, the dressing (with chicken gravy) is fantastic and without a doubt the best I've ever had. The lima beans, cabbage, and macaroni-and-cheese are also above-average. The only drawback is the cornbread which tends to be a little dry.
In conclusion, Q's represents superb value for your money as you will likely pay no more here for home-cooked food than you would at any fast-food restaurant. I definitely recommend it for it's good food, relaxed atmosphere, and friendly employees.
(FYI - If you are traveling through the Atlanta airport with a long layover, Q's is located two stops north of the airport directly across the street from the East Point MARTA station. This is a five-minute, $1.75 per-person, ride from the airport and definitely worth it as the food here is much better than anything you can get inside the airport.)
