Flying Biscuit

Description

Tucked away from the traffic of Little Five Points, this homey spot is easily missed, but not by locals. Crowds line the sidewalk on weekend mornings for omelets, pancakes and, of course, the signature biscuits. Dinners are less famous, but feature Southern goodies such as Dixie meatloaf and many vegetarian offerings. The cozy storefront is arranged into two rambling rooms with mismatched chairs and peculiar wall murals, but you'll feel right at home, especially when the biscuits arrive. If you want a glass of wine with your meal, bring it along.

A small breakfast outpost in the middle of Midtown Atlanta, I have found that the food is good standard southern fare that one would normally expect in a diner like this. The location is rather cramped, though. Unless you feel like waiting for 30 minutes to an hours, don't go between 10 and 2 on the weekends, even if you're going by yourself.

Great place for breakfast or lunch. The menu is creative, the portions hardy and the service is a refreshing change from the seemingly unhappy waitstaff of other small establishments. Try the mufelatta....go there hungry because you won't leave hungry!!

The original location is still the best. The biscuits are still great, although the quality has gone down a bit since the original owners sold the restaurant. I recommend getting a biscuit to start your meal with, that way you get one that hasn't sat under the heat lamp waiting for the rest of the table's food.

Great breakfasts - but get there early on the weekend.

One wants so much for Flying Biscuit to succeed. It is enormously popular and certainly and Atlanta fixture. After the customary wait of an hour or so, the kitchen will be backed up and serve mediocre brunch. The namesake biscuits are a strange, floury puff of sweetness. My Granny would not approve.

Best breakfast hands down. Worth the wait. I will even eat dinner here alone when in town for business. Not a stuffy feel and the food can be healthy or homestyle whichever mood you are in. Go early and plan to wait 30+ min on the weekend for breakfast.

unremarkable; an excellent biscuit only gets you so far

Food a little on the rich side - even the salads are loaded with calories. Biscuits and breakfast good.

Best thing on the menu is the meggican wrap. Worst thing the biscuts. Don't belive the hype. Great front of the house staff friendly and nice even when you can tell they are beat down by the rush.
