Dante's Down the Hatch
Dante's dream inspired him to create an entertainment complex around the illusion of an lath century sailing ship tied to the wharf of a mythical Mediterranean village. The club is divided into 13 levels, all but two interconnected, but the feeling of privacy is maintained. Private parties from 10 to 400 guests can be entertained easily on thirteen levels in a wide range of flexible Rooms, cabins, decks and balconies. Rising high above the wharf is the impressive stern of a full-rigged sailing vessel...mast, sails and all...with a moat, complete with live crocodiles surrounding the hull, all within a 3-story building. Aboard ship, a. within the upper and lower decks are Ave levels of seating a. enclosed cabins for dining or drinks ..all affording an excellent view of the entertainment stage amidships.
this place is awful!!!! i cant believe we were followed by the manager because we didnt leave a big enough tip. she told me and my friends that if we couldnt afford to eat there we shouldnt get jazz with our food..i was like u dont know my finances and he got the tip he got (4 dollars, and we were being nice because everything was nasty, couldnt hear the music and our waiter acted like he didnt want to serve us)because we were dis satisfied with the service!!! i will never eat here again....bland and nasty fondue!!!!!!!!!!
the best in mood & song: good place to take a date if you need to make a good imperstion.the food is very good.i'm really not a drinker but the wine is woo.the band will put in the mood for love or thay will bring you laughter.all in all it is a very good place you will never forget your visit.must thing to do when you get here!!!!!!
My first experience was not good. I guess my expectations were too high. I had always heard this was a great place to go... Our waiter had no personality. We asked what was popular on the menu - he said everything was good not very helpful or friendly. The food was over priced for the amount you received. Our timing was I guess really bad. We paid extra for the view of the band which played a few songs then took a long break. We only heard a few more by then we were ready to leave. Don't pay $7.00 a person to set on the ship to hear the band you can still hear them where ever you set.
The quality of food was pretty good, I'll give them that. But the cost was way over the top. We were sat at a table above the band, who played for half the time we were there. Then, in the middle of the dinner, we notice that it cost $10 PER PERSON just to sit at the table, and have the band play. It wasn't well advertised or anything, just on a candle holder. And the lack of chocolate fondu on weekends added to the problem. If price isn't an issue in your mind, then by all means it is a good establishment, but I would much rather go a couple miles to the Cheesecake factory, which I thought was better and less expensive.
The atmosphere was wonderful, however, the service and food were lousy!
I went on my birthday - I had always driven past it so a group of 6 of my closest friends made a reservation. First of all - they screwed up our reservation and ended up squeezed into a 4 - person booth. Then, the waiter took half of forever to actually come and take the drink orders ( and it really wasn't that busy) Since I am a vegetarian - I ordered a veggie plate - which is a small plate of raw vegetables, unseasoned - to dip in oil. I was really disappointed in both the food and the service - the waiter had lost our order- then didn't even apologize for it. By the time the food actually got to the table we were about to gnaw on the table we were so hungry! It ended up that night that we each paid about $40 a person to cook our own bland food and lousy service. Needless to say - we hit a diner after we left.
It had been 15 years since my first visit to Dante's and now I remember why it has been so long since my second visit.
I have never been to a fondue resturant that I have come out hungry - except for Dante's. I have never been to a fondue resturant that does not do chocolate fondue AND does not mention that when making reservations. - except for Dante's $130+ for dinner without dessert and come out hungry.
