I really liked the food. I got the fried chicken with macaroni and cheese and yams and corn muffin. It was very good and the sweet tea and lemonade was excellent. Needless to say....I'll be back. The service was not that good though (lithonia) Server didnt bring syrup when we ordered waffles and we had to ask for a refill after a while of the cup being empty.
My sister and a friend visited Atlanta, and we went to Gladys Knight's & Ron Winan's restaurant Sunday, 9/16/07. The food and ambience were great. However, when the bill was paid and the waiter received his tip, we were conspicuously directed to leave the table. We had been at the table no more than 15 minutes after paying for the dinner, and Anthony asked us twice within a 10 minute span did we want something else. We informed him that we were aware that he was trying to get us to leave the table. He told us that there was a line outside. That was a lie.
I was embarrassed and disappointed in the waiter's behavior towards me and my guests. He was given close to $8.00 for a $31.00+ meal. He did not deserve a tip from my guests. I hope this business practice is discussed in the next staff meeting to determine if it is indeed the best business practice for the restaurant.
I cannot in good faith recommend the restaurant to visitors and family members.
I have been to the atl 4x and every trip i visit gladys and rons, the food and the service is excellent. I would recommend others to visit if every in in the atl it's worth the wait and the uptown tea is off the chain keep up the good work.
We were just in Atlanta for Labor Day weekend, for the second year, and we decided to finally visit this restaurant. Attended Friday for dinner and had to return Saturday for more... would've gone back Monday except it was closed for the holiday. Service was excellent, friendly staff, great music, and exceptional food. We would recommend stopping by this establishment when visiting
Atlanta or D.C. Can't wait to return to
Atlanta, to make this the first stop on our list!
I can't say anything negative about this place. We did have to wait but it was well worth it. My girlfriend and I were in Atlanta for the weekend and we heard such good things about the resturant that we had to find time to go. We will be in Atlanta again this weekend and we will definatly be eating here again. To me this place is a must if your every in the ATL.
Everytime we go it is the bomb. I really enjoy the lithonia location. There is a young man there that will serve you just like your grandma would leaving nothing undone to make sure your dining experience is enjoyable. You know what typing this review has made me hungy. Look out Glady's here we come.
They are kindof expensive if you're not expecting to spend alot of money while visiting Atlanta, they were nice about accomodating our large church group, other than that, they're prtty good.I didn't see Gladys or Ron so there you have it.
I'm a long time fan of Gladys Knight, I've seen her show several times back home in Las Vegas, so eating at her place was a must during our family trip to Atlanta. We went on a week night about an hour before closing (we were still on Las Vegas time). We were quickly sitted and our friendly waitress came right over. The food was WONDERFUL, I had the baked chicken, my husband dined on chicken with gravy and our two girls (9 and 4) enjoyed the drumsticks and waffles.
Excellent food! My mouth starts to water just thinking about how much I enjoyed the meal.
Terrific service, nice ambiance and a wonderful value. The portions were large (even for my for husband's big appetite, and the price was reasonable.
I would say that this is a must visit while visiting Atlanta.
My only complaint is that they were sold out of their t-shirts :-(, and I sure wish Gladys could have been there in person singing some of her sweet music.
