We went to the Atl Fish Market for my birthday dinner 2 days ago.I had never been before and was highly impressed with everything! Our waiter was Hayden and when he came to the table to greet us he called me Mrs. Jordan. To me this was a big deal, normally waiters do not go to the hostess stand to find our your name before they greet you. We ordered an appetizer that had shrimp, scallops, calamari and peices of grouper with a spicy tangy sauce and it was AWESOME. I also had 2 margaritas that were very good. The black fl. grouper was amazing, my fiance had the special of the night which was crab stuffed lobster and he said it was fantastic. Hayden did a great job and was very attentive, the best service I think I have ever had! Overall this restaurant was perfect and I can't wait to go back!

I had heard such great things about Atlanta Fish Market...so of course I had to go. I am from NJ and have grown up with fresh seafood...so needless to say seafood is my fav. I was really excited to go and invited my sister and nephew out to dinner. I was impressed with the $2 valet parking. We were seated right away and our waiter was perfect. I was impressed. The ambiance of the place was contagious...I loved it. Well that was up until our food came. No presentation whatsoever they kind of just tossed the food on the plate. Even worst than that the food was rather blan. I was so disappointed. The crab cakes were the best a bit blan in taste but the real lump crab meat was wonderful. They didn't cut any corners with the crab cakes. Yum. The stuff lobster with the white wine sauce wasn't my fav. I thought that the two flavours didn't mix very well. It really took away from lobsters taste. It was over-powering. My sister wasn't to happy with her fried seafood platter. They were very skimpy on the shrimp. I will NOT be going back to the Atlanta Fish Market again.

We were immediately seated on a Tuesday night. The atmosphere was much more casual than I expected, most people were in jeans and women were in tank tops. The prices ranged from the small entrée selections at $19.99 to the regular menu selections that were from about $25 to $48 for lobster. The salad did not come with the meal and were about $7.50 to $8.50. We had the wedge of salad with bleu cheese and it was excellent. We had the broiled seafood platter for $28. It was a large quantity of food and was average, but better than Red Lobster. The biggest problem I had with this restaurant was the service. They were not very busy and we could not get our drinks refilled or other needs met. Our server had absolutely no personality and made it kind of a down experience. If we were at Waffle House it would have been acceptable. I am sure there are good servers there so you may get lucky and the food could possibly be worth the trip. However, I would take heed to other people's warnings on here if you are going for a special occasion because the service could likely leave you very disappointed with your experience.

I went to the AFM yesterday to celebrate my sister's birthday. Not only was it some of the best seafood I've ever had, but the service was AMAZING!! We arrived with no reservations and sat at the bar for a cocktail...after about 15 minutes we were seated- our waitress was super friendly! After we ordered our food our server noticed that our entree's were taking a few moments longer than expected- she sent over the manager (Erica) to check on us. She too was AWESOME! She offered us all free dessert and when she saw we had a cake brought outside from a local grocer, she offered to take off all of our appetizers. I was SO pleased with the service and great food I will reccomend this place to EVERYONE I know.

My impression
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/5/07
The food was excellent. I was a waiter for several years prior to getting my degree in law. I notice more than the average person because of this. What I did not like was our entrees coming before we had even finished our appetizers. My party wanted to enjoy a laid-back dining experience. We spent about $200 for 3 of us with drinks. Our wait person was outstanding and knowledgeable and made us feel special. Another thing I found disconcernting was a manager admonish a server on the main floor. The look on the manager's face was evil and though I could not hear what he said, he tore into this person who just stood there and took it and looked very embarrased. I find this very offensive. Noone deserves to be taken to task in front of others. Is this how they run their business? I will come back again for the food and service, however I will not order entrees next time until we have finished our appetizers so we can control when it comes better. And hopefully their managers will behave in a more professional manner with their staff.

Not very classy.. I can't even hear the individuals across the table. No dress code. Food is nothing special. Go elsewhere...

Two for Two
By MINDY C, 9/16/07
After eating here the first time in Dec. 2005 I got very ill later in the evening. The other two in my party did not get sick, so since then, we've always chalked it up to a virus possibly. Then, last night, I was there again with 2 others and after returning home, got even more violently ill, almost thought I'd have to go to ER. Both times we all shared a crab cake and then last night I had a little tartar sauce that the others did not have. Ambience is nice there, service was great, but I'm left wondering why two out of two times I have gotten very ill after eating there. I won't try a third time.
