My husband and I ate there November 1st. I think that the prices are too high for what you get. I got the New York Strip, 12oz it was $45 and had nothing with it. I was good but not great. The salad I ordered was an iceberg lettuce wedge with diced tomatoes, cheese and egg and it was $12. I really think they could make things more tasty for the amount of money you pay. The atmosphere was nices and service was great but the presentation of the menu was ridiculous. The waitress had to tell you about each item and showed you a raw portion of the steaks. I felt awkward and also felt sorry for her for having to do such a long speech just to take your order. I don't like to be critical but I really expected something special for the amount of money we spent. I liked Houston's much better for the money.
Does not compare to Bones' 20 ounce strip in Atlanta or Peter Luger's porterhouse in NYC. When ordering a 4 lb lobster to share as an appetizer for four, I was given a hard time and told they must take it out of the shell. The silly presentation of raw food should be eliminated.
I went to this Morton's for my birthday in September, and I drove from Charlotte, NC to eat there. My experience was definately wonderful! Everything from the food, staff, service, was top notch.
The porterhouse seemed to get better with each bite, and the mashed potatoes were excellent. I definately plan to go back the next time that i'm in Atlanta.
I have never been to the Atlanta one, but the Mortons in San Jose, Ca is the best restaraunt. The steaks are always cooked to perfection, always juicy, the right amount of seasoning. Though the prices are high, its the best steakhouse and worth the price
The food is really great - from the steak, which is it's specialty, to the seafood, lamb, drinks, and the dessert is wonderful. It's a really pricey place, but if you split the food down and make it a rare experience, it's not so bad, although I still think it's pricey. My boyfriend's family took me and his sister there for our respective birthdays, and it was an experience I won't soon forget. Oh, and the dress code seemed to be business/semi-formal.
