Sun Dial Restaurant Bar & View

Description

Located atop The Westin Peachtree Plaza , this rotating restaurant provides stunning views of the entire metro area, and a spectacular setting for a business lunch or special occasion. The creative American menu features artfully-prepared favorites, including many beef and poultry selections. A separate rotating bar is located directly below the restaurant for taking in the view without the steep dinner ticket. Live jazz plays in the lounge on weekend nights. Jacket and tie recommended for gentlemen.

My husband and I were excited to go, but was very disappointed. The view was beautiful, but the waitress OMG, she was totally rude, we asked for a manager, but we were told that he was with another customer. We didn't like our entrees, but we did enjoy the shrimp and grits appetizer. We won't be returning.

Well, the view is AMAZING! It was our first time going and we really enjoyed the view of Atlanta at night. What wasn't amazing was the over priced food. I had salmon and she had trout. The cut of salmon I got cost me $30 and some change, same for the trout. I was knew the prices would be high, BUT, I also expected the food portions and taste to match those prices. When my salmon arrived I was very disappointed because I could have gotten the same exact cut of fish from my local Publix for $5-$6 and it would have tasted better! The same went for the trout. Over all my bill came to be around $79. I regret spending that money at the Sun Dial. My girlfriend and I said we would go back but just to see the sunset and MAYBE just order a drink (which are also over priced). They also apply a 20% surcharge to your Credit/Debit card that they say will be released in 2-3 business days, we will see about that too. My final opinion, if you want to impress, go ahead and spend the money. If you just want to see the sunset it's probably the best place to do so in Atlanta. Service was good, no problems with my waiter and although we didn't make reservations we were seated pretty quickly.

**OUTSTANDING** Romantic, Great View, and Super Great Stop to blow your dates mind! This view and food cant be beat for the price anywhere in the USA. This is the tallest hotel in the western Hemisphere and you get to see the entire city while you revolve around one time every hour!

View was great but service was awful. Drinks okay but it took 30 minutes to get a bar menue and another 45 minutes to get drinks. Waitress and bartender had extremely bad attitude and very unwilling to answer questions. Attempted to speak to manager on duty but they were not available to hear my comments. Don't waste your time or money on this resturant.

My daughter and her friend went to this facility and when they got their check they asked if they could have separate checks and the waiter said yes, she used her debit card and found out that there was a 38 percent increase in her bill. Eighteen percent for the separate check and 20 percent for her debit card. The waiter never said there would be an additional charge for either of these request. My daughter is 19 and she paid this rip off fee. Since when do resturants charge for these customer service items, I can understand it a lot better if there had been 8 couples or more but for two people get real. How long does it take a minute. Also it would have been better if the waiter had told them about this charge and they would not have done it. They also left a tip(ha) for their so called server. He serviced them alright.I doubt very seriously whether we will frequent this place again. In the defense of the Sundial, an email has been sent but no reply as yet. I will keep you informed.

The Sundial is a beautiful restaurant with a great view and elegant atmosphere. The food was excellent. For an appetizer, a rib eye steak and a beer, I paid around $50. Not that expensive considering the fantastic dining experience.

My husband and I kicked off our 1 year at The Sun Dial and I must say the food was not at all impressive. The resturant was extremly cold and once you got over the rotating room and view of the city well that was it. The food was presented well yet lacked flavor and we were not impressed for the prices. However the appitizer was amazing.. could of got that at Chilli's lol.. So its a great experience however they need to consider a new chef...its one thing to pay alotfor something amazing but its another when the food is not!!

This place was awesome, it was very expensive, but well worth it, getting there is tricky, even leaving too. All the waiting periods suck, but once we got to our table it was a jolly ol' Time!!!!!! Great service. great drinks, food, view. We'll definetly come back!
