My husband and I were excited to go, but was very disappointed. The view was beautiful, but the waitress OMG, she was totally rude, we asked for a manager, but we were told that he was with another customer. We didn't like our entrees, but we did enjoy the shrimp and grits appetizer. We won't be returning.

Well, the view is AMAZING! It was our first time going and we really enjoyed the view of Atlanta at night. What wasn't amazing was the over priced food. I had salmon and she had trout. The cut of salmon I got cost me $30 and some change, same for the trout. I was knew the prices would be high, BUT, I also expected the food portions and taste to match those prices. When my salmon arrived I was very disappointed because I could have gotten the same exact cut of fish from my local Publix for $5-$6 and it would have tasted better! The same went for the trout. Over all my bill came to be around $79. I regret spending that money at the Sun Dial. My girlfriend and I said we would go back but just to see the sunset and MAYBE just order a drink (which are also over priced). They also apply a 20% surcharge to your Credit/Debit card that they say will be released in 2-3 business days, we will see about that too. My final opinion, if you want to impress, go ahead and spend the money. If you just want to see the sunset it's probably the best place to do so in Atlanta. Service was good, no problems with my waiter and although we didn't make reservations we were seated pretty quickly.

Great view, horrible service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/29/10
I have been to the sundial numerous times but it is only to show out of towners a great view. The drinks are overpriced, the service is slow, and the interior needs an upgrade (ratty furniture, carpet, etc.).

Fabulous view. Food is good, not great. Bring your sea-sickness meds, the dial moves fast.

Bad food, 70's decor, sloppy service, but after all it's all about the view, right? Go for lunch to limit the damage.
