Vortex Bar & Grill, Atlanta

While waiting to be seated we tried to get a drink at the bar which turned into a hassle because we were told that you can only be at the bar if you wanted to eat there which was dumb since i didnt plan on sitting there just grabbing a drink.. ,The food was really good and the fact they stay open till 3 on the weekends made it even better.Not a fan at all of the smoking in there,i would rather be able to smell my food not someones cigarette smoke.

Honestly, the place was/is WAY over hyped. The service was really sub-par and the service was beyond any kind of expectation one could have. I read some good reviews and felt it could be a good place, but it really was not. I was left with a very bad taste and, if given the choice of The Vortex and McDonalds (Though I hate MCD) would prefer to go to MCD. I just cannot believe how bad it was, but then again with a prime location maybe they and other restaurants can get away with it. I am just so surprised and shocked. If the ratings options would have been minus 5 to plus five, they would have gotten a minus 3.

Not really impressed considering all the hype. Since people can smoke in there, it's kind of gross and kids under 18 aren't allowed. The food was good but the atmosphere made us all feel grimey.

Get a Burger here. Did I mention get the burger! The other food is good also. Wide selection of beer so you cannot lose with an extra dark and a good burger (Again). The apps are good as well. Atmosphere is mostly younger people and the typical atlanta scene but a good one. ENJOY. -Food Lover

Do not buy the hype and gimmick - Vortex is TERRIBLE! The food is sub-standard bar food at best. Their burgers are one step above McDonalds and their fries are equivalent to microwavable fries. To make matters worse, the service is HORRIBLE! The hostess (or one of) is rude, condescending, and in my experience, racist! When I complained to the manager, he told me I was being ridiculous. I would never go back to Vortex again! When visiting Atlanta, I highly recommend you avoid this trashy and smoke filled place. There are a lot of other restaurants in the area worthy of your business. Also, if you are going with a GROUP, this is definetly NOT the place for you - they will not seat you unless everyone in your party is present. They refuse to allow you to change your party size once you've given it to them, so you're definitely out of luck if someone decides not to show up. They will not seat you! As ridiculous as it might appear, this is apparently their policy! Dining at Vortex is THE WORST dining experience I have ever had! I'm giving it a one star, but only because I can't give it a ZERO STAR.

my server got an attitude and the food was all wrong my burger was raw and the sever did not get my order right i was very dissapointed in the overall resturaunt im sure you all can do better than that

go to the little five location and ask for angela the best server around.

I went to the Vortex last week and had the Rueben with a side of Plantains. The Plantains is what did it for me (Very Good) The Rueben was good but I would go back just for an order of Plantains. Loved It!!
