For over 70 years, Sprayberry's has been a Newnan mainstay and a favorite of visitors alike. Sprayberry's, a family owned and operated business, has two locations in the Newnan area. None of their selections including their barbecue, Brunswick stew, baby back ribs, chicken, steaks, seafood, hamburgers, salads, or homemade pies will disappoint. Second location is at Highway 34 at I-85, Exit 47.
Disgusting!! Horrible food! Dirty restaurant! I spent $43 for two platters with tea. Each item I put in my mouth disappointed me more and more. BBQ pork was flavorless and mushy. Brunswick stew looked like vomit and didn t taste much better. Sauce tasted like a dirty tin can with vinegar and the slaw was a joke. I left and immediately went next door to buy something to get the tastes out of my mouth. What a disappointment!
I used to eat here about once or twice a week but now it s too expensive to even consider given all the other options around. I love the steak fries and the onion rings aren t really rings at all as much as they are just a pile of greasy onions and batter. Really good though whatever they are. The bbq is hit or miss. Sometimes it s moist and sometimes its dry. Used to be very good but slowly has declined. I hope they can fix the issues because I like local places over chains.
I got two full slab rib plates to go. The food was horrible. I have not been to Sprayberry's for quite some time and thought I would give it another try. Now I know why I have not been back. The meat was dry, the onion rings were just a pile of soft, greasy onions and the slaw was, well lousy. The drinks were filled to the rim with crushed ice. The sauce was so watery that is ran off the ribs. The vinegar taste was overwhelming. The owners should know that our community needs a good local BBQ. I really think that with a little supervision and a good cook this could be great. The hardest part of a good BBQ is name recognition. But you have to back it up with great food. I would review every item on the menu and get your reputation back. Too many chains in Newnan. We need you. Right now Shanes beats you hands down and they are overpriced as well as you. It's ok to pay for great quality you don't have it. Sorry. Hurry back!!!!
Not impressed seems to sum this one up. The BBQ sauce is awful, runny and just plain bad. The pulled pork sandwich falls apart so I would NOT recommend that. Get the pork plate w/ the bread on the side if you MUST. The catfish is OK, hit or miss on seasoning and its just lackluster all around. How is this place still in business?
Having lived in Newnan for ten years, I've frequented Sprayberry's many times. When things go well, it's a decent meal, albeit slightly on the pricy side.
However, if you have a problem, expect to have management (typically the Sprayberrys themselves) treat you like a second-class person.
I still eat there on occasion, but I've greatly scaled back due to the pious and haughty attitude of management.
