This is a good basic chinese place. nothing fancy. vegetables are fresh. lots of locals eat here so most items get replenished often.
if you want gourmet chinese or a super buffet go elsewhere.
if you want to tank up on meat and vegetables with a dessert bar kicked in for a good price then this is a good place for lunch
The 'Shadow' has tried over many years to like the 'Great Wall Chinese Restaurant'. The decor is the only place in Thomaston that half way looks Chinese. It is very pleasing to the eye with glass booth partition's with colorful Chinese art . That's where this review goes downhill. The food is no more Chinese than I am. The hot and sour soup, is not hot and it is not sour and remains lukewarm on the buffet. Almost all items on the buffet are sweetened with a very heavy hand. The food lacks interest and taste bland even though it is sweet or salty. Perhaps it's because Chinese is a very favorite food of the Shadow that I am so hard in this review. This restaurant should be avoided. One star, since this place could be the best in a little town due to it's decor and throws it away on horrible food. I don't care if it's a 'hole' in the 'wall' as long as it's got good food. Want to know something? Ask the Shadow, He knows!
if your ever in thomaston georgia you need to eat at great wall. buffet is fresh and hot, the service is out of this world, and all the people there are friendly. they make you feel that coming back will be worth it.
The food was OK, about as good as any other so call Chinese restaurant. I didn't care for the service much. The place was run by three young people that gave very little attention to the patrons. I would probably go back if there's adult supervision.
I'm a big fan of chinese food and also a big critic. I stopped going to the other two chinese resturants in town when this place opened up. I go to the Great Wall very often and i have always been satisfied with the food and the service, this place gets 5 stars.
Well I'm not a big fan of oriental food. But this place is ok. Their take out is very good and it doesn't take long to get. But their buffet is usually old because they don't seem to get a lot of eat in business. But they are very friendly there and I am always greeted with a smile. Over all i rate this one pretty good.
