This is the best place to go for catfish. Greatest slaw in the world. Great food, great service. We have been going to this place for years and have never had a bad piece of fish yet. The waitresses are the greatest. Would love to know if this place is going to rebuild from burning. We are hoping so, because we can t wait to come back.
Great food and great service. The owner of the restaurant came out and helped our server. She was probably one of the nicest person I have met. My church group had a large party there last week. The service was great, the food came out quickly and was delious. The price was very resonable for the portions we received. We are already planning a Christmas party there in December.
food is descent but overpriced at $11.95 for the sunday lunch buffet. if you fly into the airstrip in the back yard, be very careful because there is a ditch across the runway just as you crest the hill. it is very short and rough. i would advise not landing there at all unless you are in a helicopter. i bottomed my gear out and called a friend to come and pick up my wife so i could takeoff solo.
If you want the best seafood and great service and owners who care then you need to come to The Lighthouse. My husband and I have been coming to The Lighthouse for years and have always enjoyed our dinner. Our server Elizabeth is great; she knows what we drink and brings everything we need to our table without having to ask for anything. This restaurant has it ALL!!! Come and enjoy the best.
April 5, 2008. Don't waste the gas to drive to this place. We have eaten here for many, many years and it was excellent, but in the last 6 months we have eaten here several times and the quality of food and service has gone down, down, down. Tonight one person at our table got their dinner and it was ice cold (and I mean ice cold). Our food was lukewarm and greasy at best. To top it off, when we told the cashier on our way out how bad the food was, she knocked a whopping dollar off our bill. That wasn't a courtesy, that was an insult. Like WSB consumer expert Clark Howard says, we'll be taking our money and walking. We won't be back. If the Lighthouse doesn't get their act together soon, I'll wager in 6 months they will be closed and after the service and attitude we got tonight, they won't get any pity on our part. We passed other people in the parking lot tonight who were also complaining about the awful food and service and while we were eating, we noticed people at another table sending their food back. We thought about doing that, but as long as we had waited for ours, we didn't want to wait another hour for another meal. We picked through and ate what we could and left the rest. Better listen up, Lighthouse. There are other catfish restaurants not that far from your door! If you think you can live on your reputation alone, you'd better think again, because right now, even that's not too good!
