The food is really good here especially the fajitas and my personal favorite the tapatio special which is chicken or steak cooked with vegetables(tomatoes, onions, spinach, and mushrooms) covered with cheese dip. yum and they have the lowest drink prices in most of rome! yall go check em out! and tell them Xiane sent you!
In all of Rome? There's not that much to choose from in ALL of Rome.. The food there is awful.. Thin, weak salsa.. My food was actually cold! The waitresses spent all night huddled up together instead of waiting on customers.. Rude folks... Won't be back! EVER!
I love this restaurant! The waiters are so friendly and helpful, the food is FABULOUS. They bring individual bowls of salsa for each diner, instead of one to share. You can order cilantro on the side, which I have never seen in a Mexican restaurant before (and I love cilantro). Five of us dined there together - we all ordered different things and we all enjoyed what we had. The service was truly outstanding.
I ate here on a Friday night during a business trip. The food was very good and you get quite a lot for your money. Judging from the crowd when I pulled in, it's a hit with the locals as well.
Although it was crowded, I got a table very quickly. (perhaps because I was alone). The service was very prompt and the food was very good.
If you're in Rome,Ga and you want Mexican food, this is the place!
Las Palmas is by far the best Mexican restaurant in all of Rome. The location can often be problematic due to the constant flow of traffic on Highway 27, but once you get there it's well worth the drive to West Rome. The environment inside Las Palmas is exceptional - particularly the split level. I always choose the upstairs because it gives a great opportunity to people watch. They make an outstanding shrimp, chicken, steak fajita salad sort of item. Best fried ice cream in town - and certainly the very best service staff. And, finally... the Margarita's are sublime! :)
My friends told me I needed to get outside the box and try other foods. They finally talked me into going to Las Palmas and I loved it. I loved the food, it was clean and cozy atmosphere. Now I'm an official eater of Mexican food. (Although, I can't have the spicy food.) The price is great also. It's not too costly. You would love the nacho and goat cheese!!!! mmmmm
I love Las Palmas. Las Palmas is located in Rome, Georgia. It is my favorite place to eat in all of Rome. The food is SUPER CALLI FRAGILISTIC EXPIALI DOCIOUS -- a.k.a., it is really, really super good. It is a great place to go with friends. If you can't find anyone to go with you or if you don't have time to sit and dine, you can always call in and place a to-go order to take with you.
I'm a part-time baby-sitter this summer and I like to take the kids there on Tuesdays because that is Kid's night. Kids eat free on Tuesdays and the clown who will make balloons for the kids is there. They love it. Even if your kids don't like Mexican food, it is great because the kids menu includes things like hamburgers.
One drawback is the tables. I don't know why, but unless I'm in the back room, I really don't enjoy eating at their tables, I prefer their booths. Another drawback is that it is a small place with a large amount of fans. So there is usually a wait. I guess the owners know this because they have a game room so if you're with kids who don't like to wait, simply bring a few quarters to keep them occupied. If you're not with kids, then you can always enjoy the games as well. The biggest drawback for me is the noise. It's not SUPER loud, but it is definitely not quiet.
I recently went to a Mexican restaurant in Colorado. That's when I began to appreciate Las Palmas even more than I already did. It showed me exactly how good the food is there compared with other Mexican restaurants. It's kind of nice to know how lucky I am to live near such a good place to eat Mexican food.
The food, however, makes up for these small drawbacks because it is EXCELLENT!!! I crave Las Palmas when I'm not in Rome. They have more locations than just the one in Rome, but I've never been to any of them.
I also like some of the servers. There are some satisfactory ones, but then there are the ones who will go the extra mile for the customers.
I always look forward to dinners or lunches at Las Palmas. It's not super cheap, but not expensive. I tell you this though, the food is worth every penny that they charge.
