I hav been going to Minatos for over 20 years. I travel a lot and try sushi places in each town. In my opinion Minato is by far the best, and everyone there is so friendly it feels like family. I would recommend this place to anyone, anytime.
Some of the best Sushi in Atlanta for the price. Decor is outdated but Phillip, pat, Kevin , and ming are incredibly friendly. Well worth the visit.
Spicy Albacore is to die for. Best Yellow Tail in town.
Love, love, love Minato. Our favorite sushi ever. Do not miss their fresh salmon, I have dreams about it. It's like eating gourmet with family. Pat, Tony, and Phillip take such good care of you and love kids.
Absolutely the best Sushi in Atlanta! The staff is friendly and will remember you after your first visit. Kevin and Ming are wizards behind the Sushi bar and Pat, Tony and Phil keep the place running smoothly. Prices are fair, the food is to die for and the staff will make you feel like family. If you ove sushi, and you have not been to this gem, you owe it to yourself to go as soon as possible. Oh, and try the fried sea bass handroll!
Minato is a hidden gem. My wife and I have eaten at many sushi restaurants in Atlanta and Minato is at the top when it comes to freshness, quality, portion size and value. Pat and Phil at Minato will take great care of you and once you go you will find the variety of sushi they offer and the creative items they present...try the Cowboy Hat, sushi pizza, spicy albacore sashimi and the Tanya roll...they will bring you back time and time again....
Lets be honest, this place is in a less than desireable location. Minato is located in a strip mall behind a golf store. The inside needs some help too. I feel like I am eating in the basement of somones house. With that being said the Sushi is worth putting up with the bad decor. Did I mention this place is cheep too! You can get miso soup for a buck! They also have the best veggie tempura! The rolls are creative but they also have your standard california rolls and spicy tuna. My advice is to sit at the sushi bar. You get better service and it is fun to watch the sushi chefs. Well worth your visit!
