Since opening Marietta's historic square, La Famiglia has become a family favorite for Italian dining. A small store-front hides a narrow room with mirrors along the right wall. White tablecloths line the sparse tables, with music tuned soft to provide the perfect unobtrusive undertone. The Veal Scaloppine is very good, served in white wine with fresh lemon juice, artichokes and capers. A wide menu of traditional selections is also well prepared. A growing wine list, currently with 12 selections, has been carefully chosen, and Italian Peroni Beer is available.
I would never eat here with my family again. The wait staff sucked! My wife had lipstick on her glass. When she told the waiter he said that was not her color (WTF). The food was not good at all. They have no business serving food or drinks for that matter.
Went to this place last night and the service was absolutely horrible. The entire staff is rude, unwelcoming, and they seemed aggitated by the fact that we were there. The food was okay, but I would not recommend this place to anyone. Wish I would have gotten up and walked out, that is how uncomfortable they make you feel. And the women owner need to take the stick out of her a**.
I love this restaurant. My family has been going here for years and years. Try the buttons and bows if you love a good cream sauce! Or Veal Lemon and Shrimp for something unique. I know the menu by heart and everything is good. Yes, the owners can be defensive if you complain but they are proud of their restaurant and their food. I would be defensive, too! God help those poor waiters if you have to wait a minute for your food! Everything is served fresh! Made to order. I use to be a waiter so I know about the restaurant business. Don't come in on a friday or saturday night when they are busy and expect your meal to come out instantly. It doesn't work that way anywhere unless you are interested in fast food. If your going to a show, let them know and they will make sure you get your meal in time to eat and be on your way.And I've brought my 2 year old there many times. The owner loves her. The thing is, I won't let her run around and disturb other peoples experiences. We have respect for the restaurant and other diners. If you have children that are out of control, then you shouldn't be dining out period. Get it to-go. But if you have children who are well behaved, then of course they are welcome! The owners have 4 kids and a grandchild! They love children! So please come by and check out this little restaurant. The food is excellent and the owners are good people. Heck, you bring up the fact that you are Yankee fans and you might make a friend for life!
A friend and I had dinner here the other night awaiting the start of our play at the theater. The service was slow, inattentive, and lackluster at best. The waiter didn't seem very interested in serving us, and checked on us infrequently. The food was chrewy and lukewarm, and tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave. I was sorely disappointed with this place, and shan't be returning.
Forget those high priced Italian places, La Famiglia,s food is just as good if not better. My wife and I spent $50 for a wonderful meal with wine. I found out that a married couple own it Debbie and Nick and Debbie does all the cooking herself. What a charming atmosphere. I heard they just expanded and still have more to go. I wish them well. We'll be back soon!
