Last night my fiancé and I visited All Island Café to order some food to go. As we were ordering, a waitress/server went over to the worker who was taking our order and whispered something in her ear. Whatever the waitress/server told the her made her whole demeanor changed towards us (hostile). However that didn t bother me, I was ready to just get my food and go home as I had a long day. So my fiancé paid for the meal and we waited for about twenty minutes, which is unusually long for that restaurant. Anyway they finally called our order number, but when we got to the front, there was no food. I was a little confused. The lady who took our order then tells us that we visited their restaurant about a week or two ago and dined in with our son. After the waitress bought the check, my fiancé supposedly ordered some more food to distract her so we could ve run out of the restaurant without paying. Now that honestly didn t upset me, I just calmly told the lady ma am that was not us because the last time we dined in was the end of May around Memorial weekend. Besides all of that we don t even have kids much less a son. Then another waitress walks up to us and started yelling and making a scene about how we are lying and etc. Later on in the conversation we were informed that the yelling waitress was the person that supposedly waited on us on that unfortunate day that WE had no part of. My fiancé then advised me to not even argue back and forth because it was pointless because they re going to believe whatever they want at this point. He then pointed out the cameras in the restaurant and asked; these cameras work, don t they? Well can you review your cameras for that incident so we can verify that your waitress has mistaken us for someone else please? I m hungry and tired and I really don t feel like arguing. They ALL decided to go check these cameras, ALL FOUR waitress now. After about a half an hour, the server who took our order emerges with our food and tries to give it to us without even saying anything about the footage. It was if we weren t in this restaurant a whole hour by now. So I asked did you find the footage and realized it wasn t us? She said no, but I m giving you your food that you paid for THIS time. At this point I was appalled....EXCUSE ME? So you accused us of stealing your food, made a HUGE scene, can t find the footage of us and our son that doesn t exist, had us waiting an HOUR and you have the nerve to be sarcastic? Well at that point my fiancé said you know what, I don t want this order and I d like to have my money back. She then says we don t do refunds, I already have the food prepared. My fiancé says I don t feel comfortable eating this food. I don t know what you or your staff may have done to it, especially since you ALL are so positive that we ripped you off. Throughout this whole incident the waitress who accused us, kept telling her side of the story to every tom, #$%$ and harry who listened...talk about unprofessional. The server told my fiancé well sir my waitress is positive it was you and I have to believe her. That is all fine, IF we were the culprits which we had no problem with them checking the cameras. Finally after I said I will call DeKalb County Police if we re not refunded our money, she reluctantly did a refund. My fiancé then said for the eight years I have been coming here, I deserve better treatment than this. I understand you guys have a business to run, but it was handled poorly. Not only was this waitress wrong, but you were informed AS we were ordering our food. You could have let us know right then and there about this alleged situation, but no you took our money to really recover the payment that you were cheated out of by someone else. We will NEVER come back here.
This is an EXCELLENT restaurant for those who love Jamaican food or have never even tried it! The food is fantastic and the ladies working there are friendly! My favorites are the King fish or whichever they have for the day, covered with the most delicious onions, carrots and peppers you've ever had, also the oxtails are to die for, along with their curry goat, and beef, chicken and veggie patties are the best. Make sure you get a piece of coco bread and a pineapple soda or malt drink to complete the best Jamaican meal you'll ever have at a restaurant. Trust me, I've tried many Jamaican restaurants in Atlanta, and none can contend with this one. NONE! Oh yeah, make sure you get there earlier in the afternoon because things go so quickly especially the fish and oxtails. Try this place, you'll love it!
This place is incredible. I went there to eat one day becuase i was extremely hungry and there food was excellent. the service is wonderful. i thought i was going to have a horrible expericence because a friend of mine from Kool Runnings (another jamaican restraunt) said it would taste bad but boy was he wrong. They specialize in everything from jerk chicken to curry goat. Even the water tastes better. When I looked at my reciept i did not have to pay over $12 dollars. I would recomend them to everyone that i know and even people on the streets. Matter of Fact one of my friends said they saw Akon eating some food over there more than 2. He even comes with his wife. So basically if you are not eating here you are missing a whole lot, even more than that.
