Ippolito's authentic Italian restaurant was the idea of George and Toni Ippolito. Having moved to Atlanta from Connecticut, they felt that there was a need in the area for a small, comfortable neighborhood restaurant with great service and great authentic Italian food. The first restaurant opened in 1989, using Grandma Ippolito's and mom and dad's old family recipes.
This Italian restaurant is supreme! The rolls melt in your mouth, and the ambiance is charming, and reminds you of a hideaway in Italy! My favorite appetizer is the Pepe. It's an Italian sausage baked inside of bread, sliced and plated in a marinara sauce. The Chicken & Spinach Cannelini is to die for, and the wine selections are great. This is a great place for lunch, or even an outing with your friends or that someone special. Give Ippolito's a try, and tell me what you think
Ipp's is an Atlanta tradition in my family for 10+ years. We'd visit the old location in Roswell during it's heyday, when the wait was 1+ hours but well worth it. I've found that some of George's restaurants are spotty but the Alpharetta location is great.
The rolls are amazing. We always start off with the calamari and love it! Good pizza, great chicken entrees. (Parm!!)
I found the staff to be hit or miss. On a not so busy Friday we waited 15 minutes for drinks and another 10-15 minutes to place our order. That's too long. They are friendly enough but sometimes not very timely.
Other than that, we visit as often as possible. (Try the tiramisu)
Friendly atmosphere and the best garlic rolls in Atlanta. Service is good and they give you plenty of food. The dessert display and selection is amazing. Be prepared to take part of your meal home. My mouth is wathering just thinking about it!
The waiter always remembers us when we visit, even tries to remember our favorite drinks. The garlic rolls are amazing, and find myself ordering extra. I've had the Spinach Chicken salad, which was awesome, and a pasta dish, which I can't remember the name, but I know that I took none home! Did I mention the garlic rolls?
