I live in Aiken and have eaten appetizers at the bar a few times, but this summer I had the pleasure of the absolute worst dining experience to date in Aiken. The service was horrible which is actually normal in Aiken so don't bother complaining because they really could care less ...we waited for over a hour 1/2 for our food! It is not a friendly place ...you would be better off just staying clear of the riff raff expensive nonsense that Aiken really is because it is over priced and not worth the bother
I ate there less than two weeks ago and LOVED it! Food was great, service was great and everything was nice and clean! My daughter and I both loved it! We also had the chance to meet the co-owner and tell him how much we enjoyed it. I think if you are in Aiken you should definitely visit this restaurant! We sat out on the patio area and it was an absolutely lovely day. We had the best time and the food was delicious. Oh, we arrived just as they opened at 4:30 and the food was served in an appropriate time and fashion. Just wonderful!
Extremely unimpressed! I've heard such great things about Up Your Alley, and finally decided to go on a nice date there. I am NEVER one to be critical of a restaurant, but this one took the cake on worst restaurant I've ever been to. Service was horrible ( and when I say horrible, I mean a good 20 minutes to even get a waiter while only a handful of tables were occupied that night), wine glasses had not even attempted to be cleaned (lipstick marks, and DUST!), the lamp shade on the wall was dropping dust on our plates, and THEN the waiter came to serve us wine with chewing tobacco in his mouth!!! What is that? I'm not saying the food wasn't great, because it was delicious, but I would have much rather gone to Outback and had a friendly staff, clean dishes, and paid half the price for the same meal. I was pretty mad when I left there, which is not how one should feel when leaving any restaurant, especially an upscale one. Would NOT recommend.
Made reservations on Valentine's Day to go... and they lost our reservations. They weren't going to give a table until we complained enough to get one. They then tried to put us outside, which was not happening in Feb. Though we went through all that trouble, the food was good and the service was great. We have returned since then and everything went smooth. Kind of pricy though so save it for a special occasion!
Went early for dinner one night and had a decent experience. The service isn't going to win any prizes for speed, but it was attentive enough without being overbearing. The food was excellent though. I had a low country boil that was delicious. My dad had a fine looking steak and my mom had fish. Other than mom complaining the fish was dry (the fish could be mush and mom would complain the fish was dry) we had a wonderful meal. A very nice interior and ambience, this is a great place for a relaxing, take your time, sort of dining experience.
I had never even heard of this place, much less eaten there until this weekend. This place is wonderful! The staff was great, the food was delicious, thereby making the evening perfect. The prices are a little steep, but some things are worth paying for.
FABULOUS! I drove to Aiken to while I was staying in Augusta and happened upon this restaurant. We had the crab dip, pork tenderloin, and shrimp and grits. ALL WERE AMAZING!!! I would def recommend to anyone. Service was good too. :)
