McGee's Irish Pub & Restaurant
Tucked into the heart of downtown Anderson, SC, McGee's Irish Pub & Restaurant offers a distinct alternative to regular eating and drinking establishments. Diversity is the key to McGee's special appeal. Business people appreciate the quality and value of our lunches, as well as the speed and friendly manner in which they are served. Others prefer to linger, quietly enjoying the afternoon and forgetting the world outside. We offer a wide selection of ales and lagers, with a seasonal specialty brew always on tap to please the "stoutest" of beer enthusiasts. Our bar also offers an extensive list of top shelf scotches, Irish whiskies, and cordials. However, the real pleasure of visiting our pub comes from our kitchen. McGee's Irish Pub's culinary staff offers top quality, full course meals and table service on par with any fine dining restaurant in the region at a fraction of the price. We also feature an 80+ wine list designed by owner & Wine Spectator Award winner John Benca.

Location: 116 W Orr St, in Downtown Anderson, SC. This is just off the main road of Clemson Blvd, and it is also in what looks to be an old car garage. This place is great for families, or singles looking for a place to eat and drink after a long day of work. Our family had the following menu items: Appetizer – fried livers, something called shoots, and a spinach dip. My wife and I also tried a bowl of the cheese beer soup. Main Meals – Meatloaf with Kerry potatoes and a feta salad. The meatloaf had a very distinctive “Irish” flavor, which I am still trying to figure out how they made. Bangers, which is a wonderful plate of Irish sausage over the Kerry potato mix with chopped chutney all over it. The taste was just fantastic. A po-boy shrimp sandwich and garden salad that was almost as good as the po-boy from “Little-Rays” in Gulfport, MS. A Ruben with slaw, and a garden salad. The Ruben was the biggest sandwich I have seen in a Ruben. It came on what looked like 3 pieces of grilled Texas toast. This is the only menu item that we had left over for the ride home. The rest of the items were eaten completely, not because we were starving, but because the food was just that good. I want to take my “very skeptical” parents to this place the next time they visit. They tend to either cook at home, “love ya Mom”, or eat at high end establishments. The price??? Well add 4 drinks, and one extra beer, and you’ll pay about $55.00. Not bad in my opinion, and really worth it. Definitely try this if you are ever close to Anderson, SC.
I've been going to McGee's for years now, and I have to say it's an awesome place to go after a long day of work, or a great place to hang out with friends. The authentic Irish Folk Music is superb and when the music isn't live, the music they play is pretty good too. The food is excellent, top on my list is the bangers and mash, beer and cheese soup, and the Greek grilled chicken and feta cheese salad. All and all, this is a great place to take you friends and family for a night of good food, laughs, fun.
Great place to hit at night for anyone of any age (good bands most evenings). Food pretty good (could use bigger selection on menu), beers good and cold. One big complaint, my wife is a wine drinker and they have POOR selection of wines, especially red wines. Highly recommend, very friendly place.
This place is the most unique restaurant and bar in the SC Upstate region. The best Fish-N-Chips this side of the Atlantic. Other excellent menu items to choose from as well - steak, seafood, corned beef, etc. The staff is personable and prompt. Quality live entertainment on the weekends. Family friendly. Every guest seems happy. Very comfortable and hospitable place.
This place is great, once you find it! It's tucked away on a side street in old downtown Anderson. The fish and chips are great. You get a TON of food, so if you're not terribly hungry, ask if you can have the kid's order. (They may add a dollar or so to the kid's price if it's for an adult, but it's still a whole lot of food for a VERY reasonable price.) On the weekends, they have live Irish music. It's a fun, comfortable place to sit and relax for dinner, then hang around for few beers and listen to the live music. They have a HUGE selection of beers on tap - more than any other place in Anderson as far as I know. The staff is really friendly and helpful. This place is highly reccommended - you won't be disappointed if you go!
I wanted to say that I took your advice and located McGees and enjoyed a lunch of 'fish and chips'. It was verry good. I wasn't sure about the chips, so she offered some on the side, along with the french fries. I much preferred the 'chips' afterall, and the salsa ranch sauce to go along with them was 'fab'. A quaint restaurant in an old building. I hope to go back soon to enjoy the nightly live music. I recommend this place highly.
