Ocean Annie's Beach Bar, Myrtle Beach

Where else can you walk out of the ocean, cross the beach, and walk up to the bar to get a drink in just your bathing suit? OA's is just a simple beach bar. Sure, it has a limited drink and beer menu (no food or snacks) and is there more for people watching and relaxing than anything else. We don't stay at the resort it is associated with; we stay in the beach cottages across Shore Drive. It's a short walk to the beach, and we set up right between the ocean and Ocean Annies everyday. At night, we get cleaned up and go relax and listen to the bands that play there all day and night starting about noon or one o'clock. Just a fun, simple place to kick back and socialize. And for those who criticize Ocean Annie's? Hey dude, hang loose and enjoy; your on vacation!!! I highly recommend this place (unless your an uptight.............)

All I have to say about LadyLinda's comment is they must have not liked her whatever reason, because I went and I thought it was totally fantastic. Dawn has to be the most talented singer I have ever heard in my life. The woman can throw down on some singing. If you want to have a fun time, this is the place to go. And no I don't work there, I live in Dallas Texas. I will be back next year for sure. Ocean Annie's is the place for me!

We've been coming to MB for years, and somehow never had the pleasure of finding this little gem of a place. Sure, the beer/drinks are not great and limited, and the place, hotel included, seems a little run down. But where else could you spend an afternoon basking in the sun, with good friends, over a cocktail or two, or more. Add a live band who were excellent to the mix, and you have paradise. We just loved it and can't wait to go back.

Want a place to relax enjoy the sun and also the water go to Ocean Annie's the view is amazing and the service is great..Take a walk on the beach with your drink and come back to relax with music playing and every one having fun..

What a tourist trap! High-priced alcoholic beverages ... wait, these would actually have to have alcohol in them to qualify as alcoholic beverages. Let's just say $6 for a small cup of pina colada mixer with a splash of rum. Or how about the beer -- at $3.75 a cup, it's not that bad ... until you realize the only beer they sell is Natty Lite. Spent three hours here and when the $72 bill came wondered what the heck all the money was for. Absolutely one of the biggest ripoffs along the Grand Strand, and that's saying something.

I met my wife here. She was a bartender and we got married. We now have three kids. A great place to be.

Great atmosphere, great band,the employees are very helpful,go every week to dance and listen to band.

This was my first year and loved it. I would definitely go back and plan to over Labor Day. Every one that was there was pleasant and fun to be with. Great atmosphere...everyone needs to go there one time...I promise you will want to go back.

We have gone for several years and just love the bar scene and the music. I love the excutive suits overlooking Ocean Annies. Pouting cuz I called 2 late to get reservations during bike week in the excutive suits. This my kind of scene.

...it's my kind of Place! Live shag music during the day--sun and people watching without a bunch of drunk irritating teenagers. Walk it off on the beach, as long as you have somebody to keep your table--it gets crowded!! The biggest challenge is finding parking.
