Thoroughbreds Restaurant, Myrtle Beach

we had a party of about 30 people, the wait staff was extremely rude to our party and it took two hours to get our meals. The cost of the meal was outrageous. We will never go back or recommend this restaurant

There is not much to choose from in the upper end of dining in Myrtle Beach and Thoroughbreds came recommended by our hotel. Overall the food was enjoyable, but to say that it is even close to a great restaurant in a major city, especially New York is a joke (as some other reviewers have claimed). The New England Chowder was really good and the baked grouper was disappointing. Atmosphere was comparable to a 70's steak house, but the staff was freindly. Unfortunately, from what I can tell dining doesn't get much better in Myrtle Beach.

Loved the way the staff make you feel as well as the marvelous food and service. The romantic atmosphere with its warmth and elegance makes Thoroughbreds the best choice of those wishing to celebrate a special occasion.

Wow what a place. The manager Dave has his act together and so does his crew. The food was outstanding and the service was perfect. I go down to Myrtle each year with 7 other golfers and we went to Cagney for about 9 years. Last year the service was terrible and management was non-responsive to our complaints. Thoroughbreds is in a different class than Cagneys could ever be. We have a new tradition - Thoroughbreds and Thank you Dave and our great server Brianna. See you next year Shane

My husband and I have eaten at Thoroughbreds twice and we have reservations to eat there this Valentine's weekend (2005). It's wonderful!!! The food is great and the service has been outstanding. I highly recommend a visit here.

This was our second visit to Thorobreds. We had friends with us this time and they were very impressed. The food was excellent, especially the house dressing for the salad, I loved it. Our waitress, Dee, was very friendly, efficient and had a wonderful sense of humor which makes your dinner much nicer. She was always on top of things and right there when we needed something. This was the best restaurant I've ever been too, including many five-stars. It truly is wonderful! The ceasar salad is prepared fresh right at your table and is to die for! Save room for the bananas foster which again is prepared tableside. So fun and so good!

We used to love thoroughbreds, however, last New Years Eve was the greatest disappointment. We gave it another try, the results was the same. We will not return to thoroughbreds.

Enjoyed my visit and meal. Everyone at my table had steak - Delmonicos? I forget, but I do remember they were very good - not incredible, but very good. The shrimp and grits (I ordered the appt.) was incredibly delicious. If I am ever back in Myrtle Beach I will get the Shrimp and Grits as my main meal - wonderful!

3/23/2008 - Had brunch here today. All the meats, pork and lamb, and the fish were over cooked. Deserts were poorly served, large pieces pre-cut that prevented sampling. Potatoe salad had potatoes that appeared to be uncooked. Terrible experience. Would not recommend buffet. Formal diner is excellent.
