Joe's Crab Shack
If you like crab, this is the place to eat. Joe's Crab Shack, located at Broadway at the Beach, serves more than six varieties of crab in five different ways, all year round. Don't be fooled by the extremely casual atmosphere. The restaurant is one cavernous room with large wooden tables and memorabilia from the 50's and 60's on the walls. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. Besides crab, Joe's also has soups, sandwiches, grilled tuna, shrimp, salmon, and steaks. They also pack crab for traveling.
awesome this place is great we can't wait to get back to the beach to eat at joes the food is really good and priced reasonably. we went twice on our last visit. THe wait staff are real friendly and the entertain you also. Its a treat for the whole family kids really seem to enjoy the place also.
AWESOME!!!!: Loved this place!! One of the highlights of our recent beach trip!!! Most of all, we had a waiter (sorry didnt catch his name) who waited on us and we were in a booth that was in a corner...There was a big party next to us, so he had to wedge in between that table and our booth to wait on us...this guy was awesome and he never complained one bit!! I got crab and I dont know what my hubby got because I was so busy eating mine!!! As a bonus, the store went on 40% discount while we were waiting to buy a shirt!! Lucky us!
Myself and three friends dined here. We found the servers to be inattentive. The food was ok, nothing special. What sealed the never coming back here deal was we had to pay for the hush puppies. I'm from NC and no seafood restaurant charges for hush puppies. There was one nice server that gave us a take out box after we wandered around until we found one willing to stop. Altogether unsatisfactory dining experience.
The service was excellent! I have heard all about Joe's Crab Shack and a group of friends and I decided to check it out when we were on vacation. We went to the one located at Barefoot Landing in Myrtle Beach, SC. The atmosphere was great! The servers danced and the music was enjoyable! We had a free appetizer coupon and the crab dip was amazing! We all got the 2lb Snow Crab legs with two sides for $20. We can't wait to go back!
My Mother, myself and our three children visited the Joe's at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, SC last week. After sitting outside in 95 degree weather for 10 plus minutes, no one came by to greet us even though several of the wait staff did pass us many times. We gathered our things and were about to leave when our waitress finally appeared!!! She begged us to stay and quickly cleared a table for us inside. The food was not worth the money we paid for it ($40)and the waitress was out of site most of the time. One of the children ordered a child's grilled chicken, which looked like an unbreaded chicken tender and was cooked so much that she had to pick the meat out of the center. The other children ordered burgers which were very thin and very burnt. My Mother ordered the crab cake sandwich it was not up to Joe's standards at all. I ordered to blackened Mahi sandwich which didn't have much taste. I have been to Joe's in the past and really enjoyed it but this experience left us all feeling pretty crabby!!!
have been to other joes-this was the worst. sat down at 7:30 on sunday nite and left at 9:15. we had appetizer and dinner-no dessert. I got one sweet iced tea but could not get any refills. waitress could not understand refill-could not understand what we wanted for dinner-crab stuffed shrimp- and i even pointed to it on the menu. many of the servers did not understand the customers. the manager visited every table around us except ours and was so rude to the table next to us-they had waited 30 minutes and still had no sodas- table of 8 on the porch- that they got up and left. i will never go back there at barefoot landing.
My husband had fish that was dry and served over ALOT of breading and I had crab legs that were very dry and nasty. The food was not good and we will not be back we paid $55.30 for a bad meal. NOT good and OVER priced.
