Yamato Steak House of Japan, Myrtle Beach

I've been to Yamato twice. It's one of kind experience. The first time we went was awesome and unforgettable! The second time we went it was only decent and made us decide that we probably won't ever go back. The service is exceptional and the chef is always fun, but this time our waitress was unfriendly and the chef got the orders mixed up a lot. My boyfriend ordered Filet Mignon and two other people ordered the same thing. The chef gave Filet to the other two people who ordered it then started cooking my boyfriend's filet. Once he was finished cooking it, he gave someone else the filet and my boyfriend only got a little of it. Then my boyfriend also ordered scallops and he only got four our of thirty and only one other person ordered scallops! Also, part of the experience is the chef to be fun and do neat things. Our chef didn't do anything fun. He cooked and that was it! It's a neat experience, but just realize that the portions aren't very big!

This is absolutely the best restaurant I have ever been to in my life! The food is excellent! The service is great! We had to wait a little while because they were so busy though. And also they were a little bit pricey, but well worth it! Go there the next time you are in Myrtle! You won't regret it!

I loved the food in general. There was so much food, i could go all day with out eating. The service was amazing, you saw everything cooked in front of your eyes. The chefs are hilarious.

We love Yamato and everything about it! We are in Myrtle Beach at least twice a year and it is always the first place and the last place we go to eat!!! Can't get enough of it!!! Highly recommend that you make reservations way in advance!!!

The sushi and hibachi is good. Getting in to eat most times is a let down. I've eaten enough around at the other Japanese Steak houses to say that prices are higher and service is rushed trying to get the crowds in.

Everything was perfect!

The food was great. The chef was very funny but a little sweaty. However, it looked unclean. Carpet was very dirty and our table was over-crowded. Cold beer though.
