Yamato Steak House of Japan, Myrtle Beach

This is one of the best restaurants I have been to. I ve been to Japanese Steakhouses where you sit around the grill but I never tried Yamato. I finally decided to give it a try and I was pleased. You get decent portions, the shrimp and scallops were delicious and friendly and quick service. You do have to like fried rice, you get a lot of it. I recommend going to Yamato.

Great place to take the family, I've been going there for the past five plus years, always great food.

My husband and I frequent steak houses when we can, and this is one at the top. The service is wonderful, friendly and fun. The food is excellent, and definitely top of the line. Worth the money for sure!

The only reason that this restaurant gets a good rating is because all the toursits don't know how to get to the good Japanese steakhouses! The food is mediocre at best, and if you're a vegetarian, be prepared for bland and blander. This was the least variety I've ever received at this type of restaurant. Also, our chef barely interacted with us, and he didn't even do the ONION VOLCANO! I highly reccommend driving a little farther north or south on 17 bypass to find a good place.

Yamato steak house is a bit pricey, but the food is excellent and there is a great variety of sushi, you can also create your own. the chefs are very friendly and want to please the individual customer. everyone makes you feel very much at home and you can experience your own varieties

BEST FOOD IN MYRTLE BEACH! YOU HAVE TO TRY!! Best during the summer to get a reservation, otherwise you will have to wait for over an hour, but it is worth it!

My family and another visit mb for vacation and we always visit Yamato on Tuesday evening.Then after a fantastic and fun meal we watch the fireworks.The food is great. The chefs are really talented,the kids big and small have a blast.If we come down there for another 20 years I know where we will be dining on Tuesday night

By far the best japanese steakhouse in Myrtle Beach!!

We are usually at Myrtle Beach during the week of our wedding anniversary. We used to go out to seafood places, but then I started becoming allergic to seafood. So...we tried Yamoto a few years ago. We loved it! The chefs are so entertaining and the food is incredible. Their rice is to die for. We look forward to this every year. Just some advice: MAKE RESERVATIONS! Otherwise, you probably won't get in.

My fiancee and I come down to Myrtle Beach (from Philadelphia, PA) once a year and the first thing we do when we arrive is make 2 reservations for Yamato. Once just won't hold us over for a whole year! It's the best Hibachi Restaurant that we've ever been to. THe service and the quality are top notch! Keep doing what you are doing, b/c it's fantastic!
